𝗩𝟳 𝗧𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗢𝗻 𝗔𝘃𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗮𝘇 In Q4 of 2023, we set the V7 Team a goal... ...4 months to hit the biggest targets in our V7 careers to date - 𝘸𝘦 𝘥𝘰𝘯'𝘵 𝘥𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘴 𝘣𝘺 𝘩𝘢𝘭𝘷𝘦𝘴! For them to hit their goals we needed 3 things: 🔥 𝗗𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 Take every day as a new opportunity to achieve more for their clients and candidates. 🔥 𝗣𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 Keep the internal fire lit - 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘳𝘰𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨! Results are best achieved when you're invested. 🔥 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 To not let one ‘bad’ moment hinder the success of the day, keep going and aim big(𝘨𝘦𝘳). The results? 𝗪𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗱. Month after month we achieved better results, not only for V7 but for the clients and candidates we proudly work with! So, to reward the team's exceptional hard work and celebrate our successes, we jetted off for a long weekend to hit the slopes in France last week. Although some of the team were better than others at skiing (𝘸𝘦'𝘳𝘦 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘯𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘯𝘢𝘮𝘦𝘴... 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸 𝘸𝘩𝘰 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘢𝘳𝘦 👀) it was a great few days away to get us fired up for an even bigger 2024. A prelude to 𝙈𝙖𝙧𝙜𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙡 𝙂𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙨, was in the expansion of the idea of 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲, beyond what an athlete and bike did in the British Olympic Cycling team. The focus moved to measuring and improving the performance 𝗲𝗻𝘃𝗶𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁. They started to measure the factors below and sought to improve all of them. What this led to, was a model of performance which drove the selection of riders to the group based on 'fit' to the environment as much as skills and experience. 𝙏𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙪𝙡𝙩𝙚𝙙 𝙞𝙣 𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙡𝙙-𝙛𝙖𝙢𝙤𝙪𝙨 𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙪𝙡𝙩𝙨 𝙖𝙘𝙧𝙤𝙨𝙨 𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙚 𝙨𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙨... 🥇 40 Olympic and World Championship titles 🚲 3 Tour de France cycling victories 🏉 Several Rugby Six Nations Grand Slams 🦁 2 undefeated British & Irish Lions tours ⚽ 1 Football Premier League Football title A number of the team went on to develop the environment measurement and selection approach into business... & MyPeople Group was born. Currently sat on the stationary trainer 🚴 watching the Armagh International 5K. Apart from it’s not, is it? The men’s race is 5K, whilst the women’s is a 3K (a quick look at previous results suggests it’s always been this way). Yesterday was International Women in Sport day & I can’t help but think it leaves a bitter taste for the women’s international race to be almost half the distance of the men’s international race. For context, Armagh5k is one of the world’s most revered running road races, with some of Europe’s best runners descending on this small Northern Irish town every February. Credit where credit is due to the organisers for keeping this event running during trying times & also running a livestream. I appreciate that the reality of running events is far more difficult than it appears on paper. 👏 Perhaps there is good reason for the women’s event being 3K (selection criteria for a championship event, perhaps?), in which case I apologise for calling this out; but I can’t see one personally. It’d be great to see the women’s race be run over the billed 5K in 2025. Why not make it the main event on alternate years by running the men’s race first next year, too? 👀 Be interesting to hear my network’s thoughts on this!👇 #equality #womeninsport #armagh5k #athletics
