Forward-thinking African nations with significant proven reserves of #petroleum know that gas (natural gas) plays an essential and transitional role in the global journey towards net zero by 2050. And #Mozambique is one of such nations. With a proven natural gas reserves of over 100 Tcf (trillion cubic feet), Mozambique ranks among the top 5 countries in Africa in terms of gas production. The successful construction and operationalisation of the 3.4 million MTPA Coral-Sul floating liquefied natural #gas (FLNG) facility in the Rovuma offshore Basin is enough to prove that the Mozambican government welcomes investors with open arms. For the record, the US$4.67 billion Coral-Sul FLNG is not only Mozambique’s 1st operating #LNG project, but also the 1st deep-water FLNG project in Africa, and the 3rd (if not 2nd) largest FLNG facility in the world. Frankly, countries in #Africa need to create a conducive environment to attract #investments and expedite oil and gas production, as time is of the essence. ================= Let's work on your project together! The African Energy Chamber (AEC) is drawing attention to the promising prospects within Angola’s oil and gas sector. The Chamber emphasizes that oil and gas are central to Angola’s economy, which has undergone “aggressive reform” since 2017. Notably, since 2019, Angola has initiated multiyear licensing rounds for offshore oil and gas exploration and production blocks, inviting foreign companies to participate. This initiative has resulted in the awarding of over 27 blocks to date. The latest round attracted 53 bids for 12 blocks in the Lower Congo and Kwanza basins... Azerbaijan continues to explore its offshore and onshore areas for new oil and gas reserves. Exploration drilling, seismic surveys, and evaluation of potential fields could lead to the initiation of new projects in the coming years. Indeed, exploration activities remain crucial for Azerbaijan's oil and gas industry to sustain and expand its production levels. The country's favorable geological conditions, particularly in offshore areas of the Caspian Sea, present promising opportunities for discovering new reserves. Azerbaijan's state oil company, SOCAR, often collaborates with international oil companies to conduct exploration activities through joint ventures and production-sharing agreements. Additionally, the government of Azerbaijan regularly offers exploration licenses and concessions to attract investment from foreign firms with expertise in exploration and production. The success of exploration activities depends on various factors, including technological advancements, geological knowledge, and market conditions. As Azerbaijan continues to pursue its goal of maintaining and expanding its oil and gas production, ongoing exploration efforts will play a critical role in discovering new reserves and ensuring the long-term viability of the country's energy sector. #SouthernGasCorridor #oilandgas #float #naturalgas #gascorridor #europe #linkedin #projects #news #socialmedia #innovation #technology #pipline #energy #gas #oil #export #naturalgas #gascorridor #europe #AzeriChiragGunashli #ShahDeniz #BPACE #ACEProject #UBOC #SOCAR #SOCARTürkiye #MinistryofEnergyofAzerbaijan #NobelEnergy #Schlumberger #BP #SustainableEnergy #GL #ADNOC #INPEX #EQUINOR #BCG #AcwaPower #MASDAR #oil #ministryofenergy #OPEC #news #energy #gas #SLB #Baku

Algeria – one of Africa’s largest oil and natural gas producers – will showcase its LNG, conventional and unconventional oil and gas exploration opportunities during a North Africa-focused roundtable at the Invest in African Energy (IAE) forum in Paris. The country is already Europe’s third-largest natural gas supplier and aims to increase LNG and pipeline exports on the back of exploration drilling from global majors and new gas supply deals. Algeria yielded 10 oil and gas discoveries in the first half of 2023 alone, with the majority located nearby existing facilities and able to be fast-tracked into production. ExxonMobil is currently in advanced discussions with national oil company Sonatrach to explore for hydrocarbons in Algeria, while Chevron is in talks to tap into Algeria’s gas-rich Ahnet, Gourara and Berkine basins. Indonesia’s national oil company Pertamina announced plans last July to invest more than $800 million in the development of the Menzel Lejmat Nord block, which will see the drilling of 12 oil wells Block 405a, alongside a solar energy project and construction of an LPG extraction plant. https://lnkd.in/dnYjx8rP
