Global Renewables Alliance’s Post

📢 Fortescue accelerates action on the global #3xRenewabels target Fortescue, one of the sector’s leading players, has earned its reputation from success in establishing the building blocks for the global renewable energy value chain, developing breakthrough green technology for trucks, trains, planes, ships, electrolysers, solar, cables, wind, batteries, hydrogen fuel cells, and the digital industry, and having pledged $1.1bn in green energy projects last year. Now, the company has joined GRA’s #Time4Action campaign to drive progress on the global target to triple renewable energy by 2030. “Climate targets set in the next 12 months will be the last which can meaningfully alter the damaging emissions trajectory the world is on. By Baku, we want to see companies bringing updated transition plans that are properly aligned to 1.5 degrees, and we need to see countries significantly enhancing their ambition to meet the temperature goals of the #ParisAgreement,” said Mark Hutchinson, Energy CEO at Fortescue. “It is for that reason that Fortescue is resolutely committed to the Global Renewables Alliance and its goals in the lead up to COP29. We look forward to a year of practical action and to demonstrating how our zero-emissions solutions can promote a secure and prosperous world.” Learn more about #3xRenewables and GRA’s #Time4Action campaign:  https://lnkd.in/dbvUU6BC GRA members Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC) Ben Backwell | Global Solar Council (GSC) Sonia Dunlop | International Hydropower Association (IHA) Eddie Rich | Long Duration Energy Storage Council (LDES Council) Julia Souder | Green Hydrogen Organisation - GH2 Jonas Moberg | International Geothermal Association Marit Brommer | Bruce Douglas
