Inflation to be pushed up by energy supply deficits, with upward movement in cost factors! Energy sector needs a serious indaba, Zambia needs to galvanize productive investment ideas to safeguard the interests of this very important sector. As important as production of food and securing national security, so is energy right at the centre stage of everything that is perceived as a workable model but its alas with our case that it quite very imperative to state that we are found in unplanned crisis with so many offshoots sitting largely on our table.

As the world moves towards a more sustainable future, it is imperative that institutions such as churches and schools lead the way by switching to renewable energy sources. Not only does this help reduce carbon emissions and mitigate climate change, but it also has numerous other benefits. Renewable energy is not only cleaner and safer for the environment, it also has a positive impact on public health and the economy. Moreover, renewable energy creates green new jobs, stimulates economic growth, and reduce energy costs . In addition to the benefits of renewable energy, it is also important to recognize the role of women in male-dominated spaces such as the energy sector. Research has shown that increasing access to reliable electricity can empower women by creating opportunities for them to enter the labor force or focus on education, improving maternal health, reducing exposure to gender-based violence, and changing social norms. By, switching to renewable energy sources and empowering women, we can create a more sustainable, equitable, and prosperous future for all. #womenempowerment #womeninenergy #proudlyafrican #zimbabwe #Anglican #solarenergy #Manicaland #Diocese
It was a privilege and an honor to meet the face behind the Anglican Diocese of Manicaland and the Sustainable Institutions Program, Bishop Erick Ruwona last month. He is such an inspiration and a goal getter, with a great heart for Zimbabwe, its future and the generations to come. The Diocese is currently one of the largest investors in education and health services in Zimbabwe outside of the Government in Zimbabwe. Their sustainable institutions project will bring clean and reliable energy to thousands of people in the Manicaland region. Rumbidzai Chinyemba was also part of the team that made this day a success. I am excited for what the energy landscape in Zimbabwe is going to look like in the next 5 years. #renewableenergy #womeninenergy #zimbabwe #anglican #manicaland #sdgs #solar

As Malawi continues to face fuel shortages due to lack of forex there is a great need for the country to ask itself what is it doing regarding energy transition? We need to invest in alternative renewable energies as the world is changing. Let us not just use credit facilities we receive to just import more fuel which will eventually run out and lead to us asking for more credit. We need to borrow to invest and not just borrow to spend. Perhaps before we get into the energy transition we need a mindset transition. Just food... or should I say fuel.... for thought.

Addressing the impact of load shedding on Zambia's economy, solar energy emerges as a key solution. Implementing solar power infrastructure can mitigate the energy crisis, offering a reliable and sustainable alternative to traditional power sources. This transition aligns with global efforts to combat climate change. Climate change's ramifications, particularly drought, pose substantial threats to agriculture, mining, and households in Zambia. Reduced water availability negatively affects crop yields, impacting the agricultural sector. In mining, water scarcity disrupts operations, leading to production challenges. Households face water shortages and potential food insecurity. Economic diversification is crucial in building resilience. By investing in renewable energy like solar, Zambia can reduce dependency on a single sector, fostering a more robust and sustainable economy. Integrating climate-resilient practices in agriculture and water management is imperative for long-term stability. Highlighting these interconnected challenges and emphasizing sustainable solutions during the interview can contribute to public awareness and informed decision-making for a more resilient Zambia.#I sell sunshine #Solar guy#Renewable energy expert Selling Sunshine.

At a time when the globe is faced with the climate crisis and an urgency to cut carbon emissions by 2030, while also closing the energy access gap and providing more than one billion people with clean cooking solutions, last week’s UN Energy Summit marked an important milestone. We welcome all commitments made including more than US$400 billion in new finance and most importantly, the bold moves by African countries to respond to the challenges of energy poverty. At the summit, Nigeria committed to electrify 25 million people across 5 million homes by 2023 using solar technologies and creating 250,000 jobs, and also giving 30 million homes access to clean cooking and energizing agriculture, textile production, cold storage with gas as a transition fuel. Sierra Leone committed to increase the use of LPG to an adoption rate of 25% as an alternative to wood, ensure that all households have access to energy-saving cooking solutions, and increase the efficiency of most biomass stoves to a minimum of 20% . These commitments further emphasize the collective bold actions needed to meet SDG7. Ensuing energy access to clean and affordable energy, is key to sustainable development. For countries in the global South, it democratizes access to education, fosters employment, healthcare among others. #lowcarbon #sustainability #energysummit #climateaction

The current energy crisis in Zambia, caused by the drought experienced during the 2023-2024 rainy season calls for a mindset shift. We, the citizenry, must embrace other sources of energy, especially renewables at household level. This will help the country attain energy sufficiency and surplus, as well as reduce pressure on the national grid and bring in the much needed forex which will contribute towards the stabilisation of our currency. Changing Zambia's energy landscape requires concerted efforts. We have the power to change the current energy narrative.

ENERGY The currency of civilization is energy and is directly related to development of a nation. Gross domestic product GDP and energy efficiency are an indicator of sustainability. over the years, Zambia has been diversifying and shifting it's dependence on fossil fuels as the source of energy due to climate change and other environmental impacts. Energy demand has increased hence the need for cleaner renewable energy sources and efficient use of energy. Happy 59th mother Zambia 🇿🇲 🇿🇲🇿🇲 #energyefficiency #renewableenergy #Zambia
