🚀 Another amazing project has kicked-off! 📅 Global Health EDCTP3-funded project #OPTbCPAP had its kick-off meeting from 19-21 August 2024 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. 🎤 The kick-off was launched by Her Excellency, Dr Mekdes Daba Feyssa, MD, MPH, Ethiopian Minister of Health, who highlighted the importance of interventions such as bubble continuous positive airway pressure (bCPAP) in saving lives and the readiness of the Ministry to support the project. 🏛️ Participants included members of the consortium, delegates from the Federal Ministry of Health Ethiopia, the World Health Organization, UNICEF, associations, health facilities and staff of the Armauer Hansen Research Institute. 📈 The main aim of the project is to scale up the use of #BCPAP for childhood #pneumonia in #Ethiopia, #Nigeria and #Malawi. 🆕️ The 'World Health Organization's guidance for best practices in #ClinicalTrials' is out! Today's launch event featured a fruitful panel discussion, where Global Health EDCTP3 Executive Director, Michael Makanga, shared insights on how funders can help improving clinical trials. 📕 This guidance sets a new global standard for the organisation, design, conduct, analysis and reporting of equitable #CTs. It was an incredible journey to contribute to its development with the support from the UK Department of Health and Social Care via European & Developing Countries Clinical Trials Partnership. We look forward to seeing this guidance enhance clinical trials practices worldwide and especially in sub-Saharan #Africa!
