The Arogya Project, an Intertek India #CSR initiative, was launched in October last year in association with SARISKA SEVA SANSTHAN. Aimed at bridging the #healthcare gap in disadvantaged rural communities across India, the Arogya Project delivers preventive and curative healthcare services to 20 villages currently, with a special focus on remote regions that lack access to basic medical facilities. In just seven months, the project team has organized 148 health camps, directly benefiting nearly 15,000 individuals. These camps provide immediate medical attention to patients and refer more serious cases to government hospitals for advanced treatments. So far, more than 350 such patient cases have received referrals. Recently, a Specialized Health Camp was conducted in Kethunur village in Tiruppur district. Driven by major disease trend analyses, chiefly bone-related ailments, communicable diseases, nutrition, hygiene, and skin conditions, this camp catered to 238 patients, offering not only comprehensive #medicalcare but also an informative session on general health issues. Shared here is a glimpse of the camp day; as seen, captured, and shared by one of our local employees. The Arogya Project is an ongoing success story of making essential medical services accessible to those who need them the most, and in doing so, bringing safety and quality to life for thousands. #communitywelfare #healthcamp #sustainabledevelopment Build Back Ever Better - #BBEB Video by Imran Khan

Update: Kerala Implements Operation AMRITH to Address Antimicrobial Resistance! Following the Indian government's 2011 introduction of the H1 rule aimed at regulating over-the-counter antibiotic sales to tackle antimicrobial resistance (AMR), Kerala has initiated Operation AMRITH, becoming the first state to enforce this regulation strictly. This move, after a decade of limited adoption by other states, mandates prescription-only sales of antibiotics, highlighting Kerala's commitment to public health. Leveraging its favorable doctor-patient ratio and high literacy rate, Kerala aims for successful implementation of Operation AMRITH, although the full impact on AMR mitigation may unfold gradually. Nonetheless, this proactive approach reflects Kerala's dedication to fostering responsible antibiotic usage, potentially serving as a model for similar initiatives globally. #AMR #Healthcare #PublicHealth #Kerala #OperationAMRITH #AntibioticResistance

Today marks seven years since I embarked on this incredible journey at Cipla . It's been a privilege to be part of a company deeply rooted in the ethos of "Caring for Life." As a Policy Advocacy Lead, I've had the opportunity to work on some of the most critical issues impacting India's healthcare landscape. These past years have been a whirlwind of learning, challenges, and triumphs. We've advocated for amenable policy and regulatory ecosystems that foster innovation and access to essential medicines. Looking back, I'm proud of the milestones we've achieved: - Spearheading advocacy efforts that led to policy changes benefiting patients and the pharmaceutical industry. - Building strong relationships with government stakeholders and industry bodies, fostering a collaborative approach to policymaking. - Raising awareness on crucial healthcare issues through strategic communication campaigns and public outreach initiatives. However, the journey is far from over. The healthcare landscape is constantly evolving, and the challenges remain immense. To truly make a lasting impact, we need to step up our game. The way forward lies in putting an integrated healthcare agenda at the forefront. This means: - Breaking down silos between different healthcare stakeholders and sectors, fostering a holistic approach to policy and advocacy. - Prioritizing preventive healthcare and addressing the root causes of disease. - Leveraging technology to improve healthcare delivery and accessibility. - Investing in robust public health infrastructure to ensure equitable access to quality care. - Championing research and innovation to develop new solutions for emerging healthcare challenges This is just the beginning of the next chapter. As I embark on year eight at Cipla, I'm filled with renewed enthusiasm and a deep sense of responsibility. I'm excited to continue working alongside my passionate colleagues, stakeholders, and fellow advocates to make a real difference in the lives of millions. #Cipla #Healthcare #PolicyAdvocacy #IntegratedHealthcareAgenda #BuildingaHealthierIndia

The challenge of healthcare-associated infections (HCAI) is exacerbated by resource shortages, overcrowding, and inadequate cleaning supplies in hospitals, particularly in countries like #India. SAMRIDH's financial support empowers Clensta to reach underserved regions in tier 2 and 3 cities, providing waterless hygiene products to medical facilities. These solutions reduce the risk of hospital-acquired infections, benefitting bedridden ICU patients, especially in low-resource settings, and minimise the environmental impact associated with traditional #water usage mandates. https://lnkd.in/gyTpMzCp >>This effort by Kerala to bring out the first district level AMR surveillance data and base awareness programs for healthcare professionals and citizens on this data is commendable. Antibiotic overuse and misuse have been implicated in the rise of many ailments that are difficult to manage due to acquired AMR due to overuse and misuse. >>A precondition for such public health advocacy efforts to succeed is a well-functioning public healthcare delivery system. In Kerala, fortunately, due to the public health system receiving funding support despite the straightened public finances of the State, such a good system is present. This makes the task of surveillance of populations, and healthcare advocacy easier to accomplish. >>I have seen first-hand the good work of PHCs and CHCs, and the large number of patients these systems serve, relieving the secondary and tertiary care hospitals of much of the primary care work that otherwise tends to flow up the system. In fact, I had posted a few years ago, about rhe Vilappil CHC handling around 450 OPs daily, which I estimated was putting an estimated ₹ 1.4 cr every year into the pockets of the people of Vilappil based on the amount they would have otherwise had to spend to go to the city. >>The role of a good public healthcare system was dramatically demonstrated during the pandemic, when thousands were helped to survive their infections, at low cost and with competent medical attention. #publichealth #healthcareindustry #publichealthmatters #kerala #india Souvik RoyShalini WarrierSanjesh KumarIndraneel Pandit, FRMDr. Tejaswini Mulay (She/Her)Davinder S.Dr. Deepak PanditProf. Shyam MenonC.
