As I worked through my shopping list at the local supermarket yesterday it struck me again how quickly the world changes. Not only were the shelves full of toilet rolls there were specials on every 2nd item. Spoilt for choice and no need to stockpile (not that I ever would ;). Not so long ago we'd be looking at anyone with a loo roll in their shopping bag with both curiosity and a touch of suspicion. I remember buying some very strange questionable quality rolls from the local pub whilst out on our designated exercise walk. These days I stick to the supermarket where possible. At Partners in Performance we work at solving problems in fast paced high impact engagements. Each year our exact offerings change as we adapt to the needs of our clients and the available technologies. I'm not claiming that we solved the world's toilet paper crisis (though am sure we could) but work closely with our clients to come up with practical solutions to a variety of operational conundrums. #partnersinperformance #lifeatPiP #managementconsulting #careers #careersatPiP #joinPiP Nick Cowdery Jelena Dragosavljevic

"Many companies and organizations will expect you to go with cooked food. But there are few will get you in with the raw food and they'll assist you to prepare and cook." The above is analogous to an employer recruiting skilled workforce versus an employer recruiting those with the potential. The former is aimed at immediately meeting targets. They expect you to immediately hit the ground and run. Whilst the latter is focused on developing and cultivating talents, and meeting targets gradually, then pick up speed in the long run.

🍕💼 Choosing a job can be as challenging as picking toppings for your pizza! But just like you want your pizza to be perfect, it's important to love what you do in your career. 💔😂 Before saying "I dough!" to a job offer, ask yourself: Does it bring you joy like finding extra fries at the bottom of the bag? 🍟🤩 Or does it feel like trying to fit a square peg in a round hole? 🔲➡️🔴 Life's too short for dull meetings and being unhappy. Choose wisely, my friends! Your career path should be as exciting as trying to parallel park on a busy street! (and those of you who know me know i cannot park on a busy street to save my life) 🚗💨 #ChooseYourJobWisely #CareerDecisions #PizzaAnalogy

Question 1: Do you possess a blatant disregard for all traffic patterns? Question 2: Are you willing to park anywhere at anytime? Question 3: Do you like to make people hurry up and wait? If you answered “yes” to all the 3 questions, then you too can get a delivery driver job in any major city! "First Job, Lasting Impression" I thought I’d start posting more regularly on LinkedIn, and even though most of my connections know me through work, university, or networking (not forgetting some friends and family), many of you don’t know me. So, by way of introduction, I’ll be sharing some tidbits about me. Starting with my humble beginnings, my first “job” was helping in our family business when I was about 16. My mother owned an ice-making company, making and selling ice to local stores and restaurants. Yes, you read that right, an ice-making business... Shout out to my brother, Braunwin (Bronwin) Isaacs, we were always subjected to our mother’s business ventures (free labour). I helped with packing and delivery, managing orders, and some admin tasks after school, over weekends, and during school holidays. After school, I worked as a waitress and became a subject demonstrator while completing my studies, eventually graduating and starting my illustrious career in supply chain. Now that I think back, this job had more of a lasting impression than I originally thought, given the field I studied in and now work in. What a full-circle moment 😊 What was your first job? ❓ What's the job that's not on your LinkedIn where some of your most valuable skills originate from? Reading David Epstein's book Range has had me revisiting the long list of jobs that don't make my LinkedIn and considering what they contributed. I worked at Pizza Jerks from age 16-22. I learned the power of concentrating on small tasks to move forward and defeat overwhelming amounts of stress at this job, which has been a superpower through my career. Working over big holiday ski weekends we would have hours long waits for people to be able to get their food because of how busy we were. Customers were hangry, pizza ovens burn when you rush, mistakes added to the hole we were already in of supply vs demand. There was no "fix", only "get through". I learned to THRIVE in these nights. I could shut down the stress and lean into owning my piece of the operation (I liked working the ovens) and embrace the chaos. We played the music loud, we laughed at ourselves, and we felt like champions at the end of another night through making it through. For every multi-million dollar project I've worked on or led, the experience that gave me a cool head in the face of stress and an ability to break up problems and trust my team to own their pieces, comes from slinging pizzas. 🍕 #range #skilldevelopment #pizzalove
