It's North Texas Giving Day Season! Do you want to support a non-profit that focuses on providing free weekly tutoring and special education advocacy services? North Texas Giving Day is an online fundraiser benefiting North Texas Nonprofits. Each year, the money we receive from North Texas Giving Day funds our free tutoring and special education advocacy programs for the school year. Our ambitious goal of $60,000 is attainable if we all work together. It's important that we meet our $60,000 goal to help our families in need of special education advocacy services. With an alarming teacher shortage, we know that special education support is impacted, and we want to help fill the gap. 🎉 Save the Date: Sept 21, 2024! 🎉 🌟 Join Us for the 2nd Annual Cornhole for a Cause! 🌟 🔹 When: Sept 21, 2024 🔹 What: Fun cornhole tournament benefiting Kids Mobility Network. 🔹 Why: Help children with disabilities get essential medical equipment. Children with physical disabilities face unique challenges. They often require durable medical equipment (DME) like wheelchairs and walkers. However, as they grow, their needs evolve, and the cost of replacing outgrown equipment becomes a significant burden for their families. This is where Kids Mobility Network comes in. As a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, they provide a lifeline for these families. They collect outgrown DME, refurbish it, and match it to children who need it most. Through their efforts, they ensure that every child has access to the equipment they need to thrive and participate fully in their community. 🔹 How: Attend, sponsor, and spread the word! Together, let's play for a purpose and make a difference in the lives of children in need! 🌟

Tomorrow is #GivingTuesday 🌟✨ Please consider making a tax-deductible donation to support FAIR! 💙 "FAIR was born of a desire to empower Americans who recognize the urgent need to focus on what we have in common instead of what separates us; people who value diversity and inclusion, but not at the expense of unity and harmony. They come from all walks of life, and their beliefs aren’t bound by race, color, gender, or political persuasion. This is the Silent and Exhausted Majority, and FAIR has worked tirelessly to give them a voice by: - Providing parents and policymakers with literature guides, K-12 learning standards, and lesson plans to combat identity-based school curricula - Training K-12 teachers in creating classroom environments that promote civil discourse, open inquiry, and viewpoint diversity - Defending doctors who are threatened for raising concerns about patient safety, weakening medical education standards, and medical practices tainted by identity politics - Supporting plaintiffs like Dr. Tabia Lee and Zack DePiero, who stand against racially hostile learning and work environments that teach students that white supremacy manifests in language and writing For a long time, it’s felt like an uphill battle. But now it’s clear that more Americans are finally seeing what we in FAIR have been highlighting for the past two and a half years. The tide is turning." Hey folks! I need your help to wish my friends Blind Beginnings a sweet 16! Blind Beginnings was founded by Shawn Marsolais who encourages a limitless philosophy in all they do. "Limitless is about educating the public about the abilities and potential of children and youth who are blind or partially sighted. The idea that the only limitations that exist for these BC youth are the ones that society places on them is crucial to understand in order to fully embrace equity and inclusion in all aspects." Recently I was gifted the opportunity to spend time with two of their team members Rob Mineault and Lia Dicicco and it was incredible to see how their limitless philosophy is embedded in the essential and critical education programs and services they provide for children and youth in BC who are blind or partially sighted. If, like me, you don't have lived experience with being blind or partially sighted, then you and I need to educate ourselves on in how to create spaces that are welcome for folks who are. How we do that is by activating our learning to expand our understanding and knowledge to be better employers, colleagues, friends and allies. And before we get stuck in the "but where do we start" zone, we can skip directly to being activated in action as Blind Beginnings has ample ways to get our learning activated. As example, here is a non-exhaustive list of what activated action looks like: Follow Blind Beginnings! Book a Blindness 101 Workshop! https://lnkd.in/gwTH4jdb Listen to the Limitless podcast! https://lnkd.in/gfyr4JSq Read the Limitless blog! https://lnkd.in/g7e_ig6M Tell our networks about Blind Beginnings! Let's be activated action takers and give Blind Beginnings a fantastically impactful sweet 16 birthday celebration! #BlindBeginnings #DEI #BlindnessAwareness
Blind Beginnings is 16! Blind Beginnings was first formed as a Society on this day, February 25th, 2008. Since then, the organization and its team has been working tirelessly on supporting and inspiring children and youth who are blind or partially sighted. With the help of our many supporters, donors, and team members (past and present), Blind Beginnings has grown and evolved as an organization, spreading awareness about the capabilities of children and youth who are blind or partially sighted while providing learning, support, and services to their entire families. We want to take this opportunity on this very special day to give a huge thank you to all of you who have supported us or been involved with us over the past 16 years – we couldn’t have done it without you. Today’s anniversary celebration belongs to every one of you as well. You can learn a bit more about the backstory of the founding of Blind Beginnings below: https://lnkd.in/dBrRyepS #HappyAnniversary #SixteenCandles #BlindBeginnings

It’s Giving Tuesday, and we have some exciting news! December marks our 10th anniversary, and we’re grateful for the chance to make homeschool safe for the past decade. We’re also grateful for the generous support of our colleagues and friends, who have committed to making this our biggest fundraiser ever: $10K for 10 Years. Starting today and through December, CRHE board chair Carmen Longoria-Green will match up to $5,000 in donations to CRHE, just as she did last year. But that’s not all. This year, CRHE supporters Caleb and Hannah Lowery will also match up to $5,000. That means, for our 10th anniversary, every dollar you give doubles up to $10,000. There’s never been a better time to support our work to make homeschool safe. We’ve spent our 10th year reaching incredible milestones, like: - Making major media appearances with Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, Amazon Prime’s Shiny Happy People, the Washington Post, NBC News, Vice News, Huffpost, and other national media outlets to talk about homeschooling - Presenting on homeschool abuse cases at the internationally recognized Crimes Against Children Conference - Releasing Charting Your Own Course, a first-of-its-kind college and career preparedness guide for homeschooled students and homeschool alumni - Testifying in support of a North Dakota bill that helps homeschooled children with learning disabilities (which passed into law!) That’s just a glimpse into the vital work we’ve done to fight for homeschooled children. And we’ve got even bigger plans for the future. Here’s a preview of what we plan to do in the next year alone: - Launch a first-of-its-kind virtual training program to educate stakeholders about the dangers that homeschooled children face - Mark the second annual Day of the Homeschooled Child with a memorial event - Develop our policy recommendations into model legislation for lawmakers We couldn’t do this work without the support of people like you. Your gift today helps us continue to advocate for homeschooled children. https://bit.ly/47vXyIg

From all of us at Tuesday's Child hope you had a great holiday weekend with loved ones. Please help us reach our goal for Giving Tuesday. This Tuesday we are to raising money on Giving Tuesday that will help lower income families with financial assistance to access all of our programs. If you are not able to donate maybe there is a friend, relative or coworker that you know that might. Sharing Tuesday's Child donation link on any of your social media's would greatly help us to bring the awareness and mission of Tuesday's Child to families that might need our assistance. https://lnkd.in/gbD_FtPP Here is a testimonial form the Williams Family- Kenny had challenges in school. He was aggressive with other children when he didn’t get his way. His teachers didn’t understand what was going on. He was attending an excellent school, but sometimes even the best schools need assistance. It was very helpful to be in the Tuesday’s Child parent sessions and good to know other parents had the same frustrations and difficulties. To know we weren’t alone. His behavior has improved both at school and at home. As parents, we’ve become more understanding and compassionate. Tuesday’s Child was there for us. They helped us communicate. He’s able to use his words instead of his hands, to express his feelings instead of lashing out and throwing a tantrum #givingtuesday #charity #donate #tuesdayschild #kids #preschool #parents #teacher #care #chicago #kids #nonprofit #autism #ptsd #nonverbal
