It still hasn’t fully hit me just how incredible last weeks #AEDF11 was. I am very proud of the Northern Territory Indigenous Business Network team, our event managers at Going North Agency and the deadly team Moogie Down Productions for capturing the event! What an amazing and empowering two days on Larrakia country, we had over 650 Blak business and ally’s join us from around the country. We had Linda Burney announce she will be changing be definition of and Aboriginal business to 51% Indigenous owned and controlled. This is a huge win and will go along way to stamp out Blakcladding in the Aboriginal business sector. NTIBN has been leading the advocacy in calling for this change at a national level! The National Indigenous Busines Chambers Alliance took the stage and discussed what the future leadership at a national level will look like. Respecting our Aboriginal protocols and place based approach to national advocacy. NTIBN in partnership Native American Business Association - NABA announced our dedicated NT Indigenous business trade delegation to the US in 2024! There is so much more that was announced/ discussed over the 2 day form for me to announce here. But stay tuned to our socials for more exciting announcements to come. But what was clear from AEDF11 is that the Aboriginal economic development landscape is rapidly changing and the Blak business sector is rising! We are unlocking our mobs economic independence and self determination. We will “Close the Gap” ourselves and not wait for the government to do it for us! Stay Blak and deadly you mob. #realchange #leadership #economicdevelopment #economicempowerment #blakbusiness #buyblak #closethegap
We had such a great few days on Larrakia country at #AEDF11. Let’s take this momentum and run with it. It’s Our Business.
