GFAiR News: The annual Steering Committee meeting at the VIII Global Conference on Family Farming was held on the sidelines of the conference from March 19 to 21 in Vitora - Gasteiz, the hybrid meeting showcased recent achievements and significant transitions within the agricultural research community. Key highlights include the successful conclusion of the EC-funded project and the transition in hosting from FAO to CGIAR/ABC, signaling a new chapter in GFAiR's journey towards enhanced collaboration and synergies. GFAiR played a pivotal role in the recent #VIIIGlobalConferenceWRF. Our moderation of the special event focused on "Participatory Research and Co-Innovation Processes for Sustainable Food Production and Climate Change Adaptation," where we facilitated discussions among representatives from leading organizations such as CGIAR, the European Commission, PIFON, CIRAD, and APAARI. This platform enabled a robust dialogue aimed at advancing family farming practices worldwide. The conference further marked a significant milestone with the endorsement of the Partnership Principles by CGIAR and farmers' organizations, reaffirming our collective commitment to supporting family farming initiatives globally. Throughout the event, key components for successful participatory research in family farming were highlighted, accompanied by concrete examples demonstrating co-innovations for sustainable food production and climate change adaptation.
