A demo isn’t a panacea for lazy salespeople who haven’t bothered to qualify prospect needs, expecting the buyer to join the dots themselves. #marketing #sales #business #smallbusiness

For many businesses - especially in Enterprise B2B - product demos remain a crucial part of the sales process. So why are the majority of them so bad? Instead of being tailored to show how it solves the problems the buyer is currently experiencing, most demonstrations are generic, canned scenarios of how a mythical“typical” user might use the product. A demo exists as real-world proof of what the salesperson has been saying up until now. It isn't a panacea for lazy salespeople, to absolve them of their role in identifying buyer needs. #marketing #sales #business #demonstration

I couldn't understand why the frisbee kept getting bigger and bigger. Then it hit me. | Supporting decisions | Enabling success | Information nerd | Strategy | Account management | Leadership | Ghostbuster
What's the best way to demo a service? Over the years I've delivered and seen a lot of demonstrations of products and services. 💎 Some are excellent because the service being demonstrated fits the bill 100% 💎 Some are excellent because the client is engaged (no - not to be married, engaged in the demonstration) 💎 Some are excellent because the person doing the demonstration really understands the client and what the client is after. 🍀 Some are awful because they trust in luck and hope that their demo gets it right. 🍀 Some are awful because the demonstrator has the "diagnosis" ready before the client describes the "symptoms". 🍀 Some are awful because the demonstrator won't let the client get a word in edgeways. So - with these points in mind, what is the number one thing you can do to prepare for a client demonstration? That's right - you cultivate your compassionate curiosity. If you're genuinely curious about the world around you and about helping people to do their job to the best of their abilities, you'll find that your customer engagements go a lot better. And you won't actually have to "demo" a product. You can help a client arrive at a solution that helps them. Obviously a deep knowledge of the products is something you can't skip, that goes (or should go) without saying. But don't stop at that. Be curious about the people you're going to meet. Put it this way: who would you rather buy from, the product-jockey or the person who actually helped you? #mondaytips #sales #upstream

I make it easier for businesses to sell their services by helping them focus on what their clients want, so that they save time and sell more.
#salespresentations are a waste of time ONLY if you skip the one thing that will enroll a buyer without any hesitation. Just ask my good friend Gee how he feels about it or better yet watch his video. 😁 The problem comes not from a bad pitch deck but not taking the proper time to activate listening skills on a discovery call and find not only if it's a good fit for both but also to gather information so that the presentation is personalized to their needs. I rather invest all my energy and necessary time on a discovery call then to schedule a presentation for a wasted hour of my day. Hey! your prospective clients will appreciate that, just test it out for yourself. #sales #salescalls #pitchdeck #businessmarketing

For many businesses, especially in B2B, product demonstrations are still a crucial part of the sales process. So why are the majority of demos so bad? Most demos are generic, canned scenarios of how some mythical “typical” user may use the product. No effort has been made to speak to the prospect ahead of time, in order to prepare a more relevant simulation of how the product would be used in their particular situation. Even worse are demos that just explain to the buyer every single product feature, function, and button. Less a demo, more a live version of the instruction manual. A demo exists as real-world confirmation of what the salesperson has been saying to the prospect up until now. It's the "See? Told you so!" moment. It isn't a panacea for lazy vendors to absolve themselves of their role in identifying buyer needs. #sales #marketing #business (Marketing not generating the results you expect? Let's have a chat)

Selling to the DEVIL… Which salesperson does a better job? Do your demos typically end with the prospect asking, “How much is this going to cost?” Then find yourself getting ghosted because your demo did not convey your value ($$$). Do you leave time at the end of your demonstrations to build out one area of ROI? Watch the video to see how and where to insert a value calculator and how it changes the conversation. Enjoy! ---------------------------------------- My name is Michael Farber After 15 years of selling software, I was fed up with getting ghosted and losing the majority of my deals to “status quo.” I decided to quit everything and build an interactive ROI application to help reps convey their value ($$) more effectively and arm their champions to sell internally. #roi #salesenablement #theroishop #valueselling
