What do we mean when we say “clean energy for a growing Georgia”? With the completion of Plant Vogtle Units 3 & 4, Georgia is now home to the largest generator of clean energy in the nation. This state is open for business and our economy continues to grow and thrive! We’re ready to meet the energy needs of a growing Georgia. Thank you to all of the elected officials, business & community leaders and employees who came out this week to celebrate this new generation source, expected to operate for at least 60 – 80 years! #unitedstates #Vogtle #PlantVogtle #EcconomicDevelopment #Georgia #GeorgiaPower #energy #goodenergy
The level of tenacity and determination required to complete this project was incredible. While others were shelving plans for new reactors, Georgia Power did not.
What do you mean when you say "clean energy for a growing Georgia?" You mean expanding fossil fuels in April more than twice the megawatts that Vogtle 3 &4 added to your capacity - did you forget? This plant wasn't built for clean energy. It was built for profits. Stop gaslighting.
Now we have the pictures of those who to blame - the people who really brought you this (success?) aren't pictured - that's the millions of Georgian homeowners, apartment and condo dwellers (not subsidized businesses so much) who will not have the money for more important things in their monthly budgets. And, by the way, stop using our ratepayer dollars for lawsuits against our own interests and advertising what a climate friend your are when you're at the bottom of the pack...
On behalf of my fellow Vogtle 3&4 operators, you’re welcome.
Please stop the gaslighting (and abusing of your monopoly). You just made a longterm commitment to gas while advanced states & countries all over are moving towards clean energy, which is also the cheaper option. Thanks so very much. A captive customer
Proud to say I worked at Plant Vogtle twice in the 1980s, Unit 1 and 2, alongside 13,000 construction workers at peak staffing, good memories there. Glenn Ray
A pipeline of ratepayer profits that won't be paid for in many Georgian's lifetimes. Why are we celebrating this boondoggle?
Fantastic update!
Congratulations to Southern from focusing on their long term ambition and making it a reality.... The best is to come....
Impressive milestone for Georgia's clean energy! How will this achievement impact local communities, and what are the long-term sustainability goals?
