#CommandShift’s Diversity Directive serves as a dynamic set of resources to help recruit, hire, and retain women of color pursuing tech careers through nontraditional pathways. Connecting diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) efforts to measurable metrics is crucial for evaluating progress and achieving meaningful change. Without these metrics, even the most well-intentioned efforts can fall short. 'The Disrupt your DEI by the Numbers' (Measurement) section of the Diversity Directive provides action steps to help employers foster a culture of inclusion and belonging through thoughtful data collection and analysis. Find out what data points actually matter in recruiting women of color in tech. Get Exclusive Access Today: https://lnkd.in/e3N27MYU #DEIB #WomenofColorinTech #WOCinTech

“Unlike men, young women lack networks” Facing difficulties with the diversification of tech and development teams is an all-too-common conversation with engineering managers and talent partners. In a recent client meeting, the % of women applying for their dev roles was 10%! At Harvey Nash, we offer a solution to increase the diversity of tech teams through our Academy, NextGen. Clients we partner with have seen more than a 50% uptake of people from under-represented backgrounds and women. I would love to hear how people in my network deal with similar issues. #diversityandinclusion #development #engineering #womenintech

I help executives, leaders, and teams to build emotional connections with their customers and prospects by establishing relationships that are mutually fulfilling.
Go Women 50 over 50! We are game changers, we can move mountains, we can level up things that are done the same way for too many years, we can hear when bullshit or political answers are given to us, we don't care about the looking good and superficiality stuff, well at least it doesn't impress us anymore, we can face narcissist people and have the LET THEM state of mind, we can see what's beneath a dashboard, what's beneath numbers (especially in a vanity dashboard). We're no victims but extraordinary leaders (and not just managers by numbers/dashboards). We're solid women who can make a difference in all the spheres of life. Let's celebrate the beauty of 50 !

Celebrating 50 women over 50 in tech! The tech industry, a sector often glamorized for youthful innovation, faces a less talked about challenge—ageism. Picture spending decades mastering your craft and leading teams to victory only to have your hard-earned skills questioned because of your age. For many women over 50, this is their reality. Women often find promotions slip through their fingers, their expertise ignored, and they're unjustly expected to make room for the younger crowd. Women in their 20s and 30s also grapple with societal expectations to be primary caregivers for their kids, further complicating their professional journeys. As Mother’s Day is quickly approaching, let’s celebrate the women who've not only raised us but have also extended our appreciation to those shaping the future of technology. Today, cross-generational teams are not just common; they're crucial for business success. 💪 These inclusive teams represent a fusion of diverse perspectives, experiences, and skill sets. While seasoned professionals possess deep institutional knowledge and a nuanced understanding of industry dynamics, younger team members might introduce fresh, innovative solutions and comfort with emerging technologies. Ways we can tackle ageism: 👩💻 Promote Age Diversity: Regular training and awareness programs can help debunk stereotypes and highlight the value of intergenerational collaboration. 👩💻 Implement Inclusive Hiring Practices: Remove age indicators from resumes and applications during the screening process to reduce unconscious biases. 👩💻 Create Mentorship and Reverse Mentorship Programs: Facilitate opportunities for knowledge sharing and learning across generations. A remarkable list compiled by Stacey Nordwall highlights the achievements of 50 trailblazing women in tech spanning telecommunications, life science, education, artificial intelligence, and entertainment. (https://lnkd.in/gWS9FTXK) Kudos to all the women mentioned and the hard work they all do! Special mention to Stacey Nordwall at Pyn for putting together this list. The tech industry is booming, but there's a persistent leak in the pipeline. Last week I attended the #iwd2024 Keynote and Networking event at COLONY where the fantastic Amy Lynch - Head of EDI at Thoughtworks presented 10 things she wished she had known sooner in her life/career, and shared some truly eye-opening stats. Did you know: - 50% of women in tech leave the field before the age of 35. - 1 in 3 women leave their current jobs in tech. - 1 in 4 leave the tech industry entirely. These numbers show that we're losing talent at an incredibly alarming rate. As an advocate for a more inclusive tech industry, I believe there is a clear demand for action. We need to understand why women are leaving and work together to create a culture that fosters their success. Are you a woman in tech? What are your thoughts on this issue? I want to hear about your experiences! 👇 #WomenInTech #DiversityInTech #CloseTheGap #InspireInclusion #DiversityEquityInclusion #WomenInLeadership

#IWD24 Happy International Women's Day, everyone! As we celebrate the incredible achievements of women, especially women in STEM, here are a few reflections on how far we have come: 1. 💰 It's hard to believe, but it was only in the 1960s that women could open a bank account, get their own credit card, or get a mortgage. Today, we enjoy financial independence and opportunities that were once unimaginable. 2. ✊ The right to vote is something we might take for granted now, but it was only in the 1920s that British women over 21 were granted equal voting rights with men. Thank you to the fearless suffragists like Emmeline Pankhurst who made it happen! 3. 🤖 Women have been pioneers in computing since its inception. Ada Lovelace, a 19th-century mathematician, was the world's first computer programmer, paving the way for modern computing. During World War II, women like the ENIAC programmers played a vital role in developing early computers. But there's still work to be done. According to McKinsey & Company's "Women in the Workplace" report (link in comments), women, particularly women of color, remain underrepresented in the corporate pipeline. Addressing this requires systemic changes, including policy, practice, and cultural shifts. Just yesterday, I learned about systemic bias at the Women in CX ™ event, which makes me think about some of the practices and recommendations of top-performing companies with strong women's representations across the pipeline to help move the needle on diversity, equity, and inclusion. I reflect a lot on my role in CX Sales, and how I can better support my customers to create a better environment for their employees and customers. I am also very thankful for my workplace, Forsta, my leaders, and my amazing colleagues for creating an environment where my voice matters. My message to all women out there: You are more than capable of achieving anything! Let's celebrate our strength, resilience, and contributions to society today and every day! 😍 #IWD24 #WomenInTech #WomenEmpowerment #womeninsales #gratitude #inspireinclusion #womeninsaas #womenincx #womeninresearch
