What's more, depending on how governments implement the revision of labelling, information technologies are likely to change the current industrial situation...because the activation of a smartphone would enable IP detection of any telephone device....potentially, each consumer would obtain this information according to their nationality, in line with the regulations in force in each country. From an operational point of view, this is a real advance, because a stock of product in Europe could in future be used to meet shortages on other continents. Disposable vapes are piling up faster than cigarette butts, but are they being disposed of correctly? 🚬 The issue with single-use “vapes” or e-cigarettes is that they are marketed as disposable, leading consumers to think it’s okay to toss them in the regular rubbish bin. Even though the outer casing is plastic, the inner pods can’t be disposed of with other plastic waste as the pods contain toxic chemicals. Additionally, the battery that powers the vape is classified as electronic waste that is hazardous. It's no secret that vape consumption has gone gang busters in recent years, and this is a problem because vapes now represent a significant portion of difficult electronic waste. When items like vapes end up in general waste or household recycling bins, they pose a safety risk due to the energy-dense batteries contained within. When discarded we are also losing valuable minerals such as lithium and aluminium, and of course, if not recovered for reuse they may have impacts on the environment if not managed properly. Ultimately, vapes are problematic for a bus load of reasons – as the article below highlights, these products are not designed to be easily recycled. Veolia estimates the cost of properly dismantling and recycling vapes is at least $5 per item, which is not viable without a properly-funded national scheme. India can be the 'Mother' of the recycling industry in the world because our mothers have been the most fastidious recyclers ever on the planet. I am proud to have worn my elder brother's recycled clothes and my own recycled shorts from trousers torn at the knee during a hustle. I see my old T-shirt's extended life cycle as a duster and finally a mop. When my daughter buys a mop I question the life cycle of dozens of packets of her T-Shirts arriving from Myntra. Where in the world have you heard that even SOULS are recycled? Here man. I understand that soul never dies but I am unsure if it is 'Upcycled', 'Samecycled', or 'Downcycled' . In #HMEL we are determined to avoid Down Cycling. #ECOSURE and #CYCLOSURE is another step toward a circular economy. Having been crowned 'Petrochemical Company of the Year' recently was one accolade but to become 'Recycling Company of the Era' is a crown that will sit well on our head. Let us take you behind the scenes! 🌐🔧 ✂️ Step 1: Shredding Magic! 🌪️🔩 We shred the tires into two distinct classes, following the ASTM standard that categorizes Tire-Derived Aggregate (TDA) into Type A and Type B. 📏 🔍 Type A: Roughly 3 to 4 inches (75 to 100 mm) in size. 🔍 Type B: Slightly larger, ranging from 6 to 12 inches (152.4 to 304.8 mm). 🌍 But that's not all! We then sort these classes into two essential fill categories as defined by ASTM D6270. Let's break it down: 🏡 Class I Fills: TDA layers less than 3 feet (1 meter) in height. Typically, we use Type A material for these applications. 🌆 Class II Fills: TDA layers between 3 and 10 feet (1 and 3 meters) high. For these, we opt for the larger Type B material. 🔄 Why the differentiation? It's all about precision in engineering applications!
