🚀 Breaking News Alert! Disney's $1.5 Billion Investment in Epic Games 🎮 Remember when I said HXTN studios we would post when inspiration strikes? Well, this couldn't wait until next week. Disney's massive investment in Epic Games has everyone buzzing about Disney-Fortnite. But let's think bigger. To me, it's about Epic connecting with Disney, and in turn, Industrial Light & Magic (ILM) and the other Disney's film studios, where they're already leveraging Unreal Engine for ground-breaking productions like The Mandalorian. Real-time interactivity is reshaping the production process, creating fully immersive worlds at the touch of a button. Interested to see what the Apple - Epic lawsuit will do, as Bob Iger & Disney have a longstanding relationship with Apple. With Disney's & Epic coming together, the sky's the limit! 🚀 #Disney #EpicGames #UnrealEngine #ILM #Innovation https://lnkd.in/eugddh7e See here how mandalorian was shot https://lnkd.in/e4cRJWyU

The Metaverse is very far from being dead. That is no thanks to Meta and Mr Zuckerberg in overhyping and under delivering on related developments. It’s great to see that the real work continues, and that major brands understand its relevance and future value. In parallel, it’s also interesting that associations in the experiential space state otherwise. The monetized virtual experience for the masses and luxury pricing for real life experiences that I speak about (and people passionately disagree with) is continuing to develop and accelerate. Game engines are the operating system of the future.

Thrilled about Disney's colossal leap into the gaming realm through a groundbreaking partnership with Epic Games! Iger himself declared it as Disney's "biggest entry ever into the world of games," promising significant opportunities for growth and expansion. This strategic move not only solidifies Disney's commitment to innovation but also marks a historic $1.5 billion stake acquisition in Epic Games. The fusion of Disney's unparalleled storytelling and Epic's cutting-edge gaming technology is poised to redefine the landscape of interactive entertainment. I can't help but marvel 😉 at the prospects this partnership holds. The synergy between these two giants is bound to create immersive experiences that captivate audiences worldwide. Here's to the fusion of magic and pixels! 🚀🏰 #DisneyxEpic #GamingRevolution #InnovationUnleashed

Disney taking $1.5 billion stake in Epic Games is the biggest business news of 2024 so far, wow! Another blockbuster deal from Bob Iger. Welcome to the next generation of cross-platform experiences! Smart move from Disney here and GGWP Epic Games. This certainly signals their interest in expanding further into the gaming market (hopefully they won't exit too quickly this time) but more importantly give them access to new technologies and expertise in areas such as game development and virtual production, which could be leveraged across their various entertainment properties. With such an investment, this will certainly lead to bigger integration of Disney's IP into Epic's games and who knows, that could be a strong boost to bring Fortnite into traditional entertainment (imagine a Fortnite/Rocket League Zone at Disnelyland!). #disney #epic #gaming #entertainment #synergy #metaverse #Disneyfandome

🕹️ Netflix Games is quietly a great treasure trove of games and I don't think it's getting the credit it deserves. They're set to release 86 games this year with quite a few gems in there. Just this week, they're going live with GTA: The Trilogy and that's just the beginning. 🔍 Netflix is crafting games in the realms of Squid Game, Love Is Blind, and more. They're not just games; they're immersive story experiences, bridging the gap between our favorite shows and interactive play. 📈 Growth & Opportunities: Netflix's 'Blue' studio in LA is expanding, dedicated to transforming narratives into engaging game experiences. Attractive offers are on the table for game devs—up to $500k for roles shaping AAA titles and social party games. 🙋 I'm starting to see Netflix's integration of story and play actually embody the transmedia opportunity. I feel like this is going under the radar but will really take hold in the near future. Has anyone else tried their games? #GamingIndustry #NetflixExpansion #StorytellingInGaming https://lnkd.in/e-PR7ijj

This looks very exciting ... and could open up a whole lot more opportunity for UNREAL artists for sure. Disney is investing $1.5 billion for an equity stake in Fortnite and Unreal Engine maker Epic Games as part of a broader partnership to create a new Disney gaming universe. The companies plan to create an expansive and open games and entertainment universe. I would say they’re building a metaverse, if the word weren’t so overused late and out of favor with some. (They didn’t actually use that word). Bob Iger, CEO of Disney, announced the investment in an interview with CNBC today. The companies will collaborate on a new games and entertainment universe that will further expand the reach of beloved Disney stories and experiences. It will be a multi-year project, built by Epic Games. Full article here: https://lnkd.in/eyS4pNwJ #unrealengine5 #disney #epicgames

https://lnkd.in/eFhknCGc Disney and Epic Games announced a new partnership yesterday, as Disney invested $1.5bn in Epic to take a minority shareholding. Epic founder Tim Sweeney said they will work together to "build a persistent, open and interoperable ecosystem that will bring together the Disney and Fortnite communities." The move appears to make a huge amount of sense to both companies, with Disney trying to secure a foothold in the gaming space (6 years after the demise of Disney Infinity) and Epic looking to boost Fortnite's appeal even further. Whether Disney can make a meaningful impact on the gaming space beyond skin gimmicks and nostalgia-mining remains to be seen, but if there's one thing they have a track record in, it is building a universe. Disney x Fortnite has the potential to be a particularly potent partnership. #CMSGaming #cmslaw #epicgames #Disney

Paramount Pictures was stupid to drop SEGA! In the 1960s, way before SEGA was into home console business, SEGA was a huge arcade business. Gulf and Western, who had Paramount under them bought SEGA in 1969, and merged it with Paramount. However, following the video game crash of 1983 Paramount, just like Warner, cuts off it’s association with video game business. This was a huge mistake. For one of the original founders bought back SEGA for just $38 million, in 1984. Soon, SEGA gets back to their old tricks and put out amazing arcade hits like Out Run, Shinobi, Afterburner, and Altered Beast, making the new owners hundreds of millions of dollars! *** Mayank Grover 👈 Let's get connected!
