Increase in power demand is shifting the energy supply mix in the US and accelerating the uptake of renewables⚡ In US, electricity demand at data centers could triple by 2030, catalyzed by the rise of AI, remote work, video streaming, and more. 🐂 Those who are bullish on the issue believe that "the money that has historically poured into oil and gas is going to pale in comparison to what potentially could exist on electricity." 🐻 Others are more skeptical, noting that "the real danger is not that we’ll run out of power. It’s that we’ll build too much of the wrong kind.” Regardless, demand for electricity, which has stayed largely flat for two decades and is now surging, means this chart will look vastly different in 10 years. Mr. Steyer, I'm the fellow who asked you the question at your Presidential rally in the SF Mission if you would support a simple ban on the sale of new gasoline engines in the U.S. to begin weaning us off gasoline (the single largest emitter of net, new CO2). I liked your answer that we need to get the car companies to stop making gasoline powered cars and a ban could be considered among several ideas. I have absolutely no financial or other interest in a new start-up that I discovered in a recent International Bio-mass Conference I attended in Richmond, VA -- Woodland Biomass Innovations. These people have figured out a way to make gasoline from hardwood trees at a competitive price to fossil gasoline. Now, they couldn't make enough for the whole country, but there are enough hardwood trees in northern PA and southern NY to replace all fossil gasoline used in PA and much of NY. They need $250,000 to build a pilot plant at fairly large scale and a dispensing station to prove their point. Luca Pandolfi is the founder of this Group, 347-419-0627. I'd like to ask you to call him and learn directly more about what he and his associates are doing. $250,000 is beyond my means to help him, but I don't think it would be beyond yours.

Recently flew low (2000-3000ft) from NC Atlantic coast to eastern Kentucky and back along a more northern route up through Indiana. Was really pleased to see a tremendous amount of solar and wind farms. Many more than I had expected. Renewables really are taking over, even in coal country of Western Pennsylvania and West Virginia.
