Blown away by the lessons learned shared today! It was a pleasure and great learning experience to moderate this panel for #decarbNY at #CZN with 4 #cre leaders in sustainability Michael Daschle at Brookfield Properties Ben Myers of Boston Properties Dana Schneider of Empire State Realty Trust and Julia Gisewite of Turner Construction Company. 1) get started benchmarking now - both onsite and procured renewables have a place in your strategies, 2) plan your transitions as early as possible and leverage risk avoidance to get buy in from legal and CFOs, 3) talk a lot with those promoting incentives to help refine them so they will work and leverage case studies to show the ROI, 4) factor in embodied carbon and work toward NZ ready, set, go mentality with every new project.
