LETS GO!! 🎉 I am excited for all of you to enjoy Inbound! Soak up as much as you can. 📝 Message to my team LESSONS FROM DOING ATTENDING OVER 100 CONFERENCES AS A GUEST, SPEAKER, VENDOR, AND ATTENDEE: https://lnkd.in/gFKj8hsC (same rules apply here, and still apply today) Speak less, listen more! Don’t get insecure worrying how to make a good impression, just don’t fall for the all too common ways of making a BAD impression. One of the ways I see people waste conferences is that they spend more time trying to parrot 🦜 the words from stage on their socials, or record lives and try to FLEX that they are here. BE IN THE ROOM. Pride comes before the Fall. So don’t fall, by listening, by taking notes, and by letting others be the star. You will not gain much influence by echoing the things you here on social and missing parts in between. Seek to understand, not to memorize. Most speakers make the slides available after the session. So don’t try to memorize the slides. Take notes and LEARN. (Definition of learn = same input; different output) if you know something new, but your actions and behaviors didn’t change you’ve only learned how to repeat good talking points but you haven’t become any better. When you network, ask more about others, let others speak. Listen to respond, not to react. Wait 2 seconds after someone stops talking before talking. You never know who you’re going to meet, so never be dismissive to ANYONE. Don’t only clammer on to the speakers. Connect with those who appreciate the speaker as much as you do. Personally I am excited to see many of you!

After attending half a dozen B2B conferences this year I’ve noticed most sponsors completely botch the follow up With the cost of event sponsorship, team travel, swag, and taking sellers away from their desks for 3 days Vendors can’t afford to be turning off all of their leads with shoddy follow up So myself and fellow event veteran Leslie Douglas will be breaking down how to avoid wasting all your investment by making sure your post-event messaging kicks ass We’ll be sharing what the best companies are doing pre-during-post-event to stand out: - how they plan for the event - what they do at the event - when they follow up - what they say in the follow up - how they prioritize leads 12pm ET Today https://hubs.la/Q023pmn70

I pre-booked 18 conference meetings. Conferences are tough. There's more vendors than prospects and every vendor is fighting for the attention of the same people. Are you showing up to conferences with nothing on your calendar just hoping your prospects will stop by your booth? Want to learn how to break through the noise and give them a compelling reason to fill their calendar with you vs others? DM me "conference" for Step 1 in my strategy that booked 18 conference meetings so your booth drop bys are just gravy on top. ✍️ What methods do you use for conference lead gen? ♻️ Reshare if you know someone that needs to hear this.

How many times have you gone to a conference and not even met the people sitting at your own table? Or passed by dozens - or even hundreds - of people on the way to your next session, where you won't even meet the people sitting at your own table? Well, that's not going to happen at the Event Service Professionals Association (ESPA) 2024 Annual Conference 8 days from now! Because I'll be facilitating the Speed Networking session for 300 industry professionals on Day 1 of the Conference in Indianapolis, and they're going to form immediate connections with their colleagues in fun ways. I've met with the planning team, and let me tell you, they are ON IT. They want to make sure their conference attendees have lots of good QUALITY, networking time, and Speed Networking is an excellent way to kick off the conference and help them to start making solid connections with fellow industry professionals. The trick to a successful Speed Networking session is strong facilitation with clear communication and *most importantly* a logical rotation schedule. Quick, fun and engaging conversation prompts help, too. Let's GO!

I've been on a mission to build conferences that are more impactful and I've tried a lot of stuff over the last several years. Some things have been great, some things were a failure. Conference Fails: 1. Sending $10,000 worth of direct mail invites to cold prospects 2. Giving Ad money to anyone who isn't a full time employee who has been referred by someone you trust 3. Starting phone calls to confirm attendance before 2 weeks out 4. Chat roulette round-tables where we sat you with strangers to network 5. Virtual round-tables 6. Not charging for tickets and or something virtual and believing someone will attend 7. Too much content at once - booths, talks, round-tables, 1v1s, vip networking, etc....tooo much, start small Conference Wins: 1. Going high level and targeted to a niche ICP 2. 8 person topical brain-dates, great for meeting people and solving problems 3. Locking in your VIPs with a private dinner 4. Coffee breaks by the booths, shorter booth times. It is boring sitting there. 5. More private events like dinners and happy hours. 6. Ice-breakers for sponsors and meet and greet for speakers 7. Alcohol drives networking #fieldmarketing #saasmarketing #bootstrapping
