Hello LinkedIn community, As we approach Time to Talk Day on 1 Feb 24, a significant initiative run by Mind and Rethink Mental Illness in England, in partnership with Co-op, and embraced UK-wide in collaboration with Scottish Action for Mental Health (SAMH), See Me in Scotland, Inspire in Northern Ireland, and Time to Change Wales, it's crucial to highlight the impact of conversation on mental health. Time to Talk Day, launched in 2014 by Time to Change, aims to create supportive communities by encouraging conversations with family, friends, or colleagues about mental health. We all have mental health, and by talking about it, we can support ourselves and others. Let's pledge to make time for meaningful conversations, not just on 1 Feb 24, but every day. Together, we can foster a culture of openness and support communities across the country to have more mental health conversations than ever before. September is National Suicide Awareness Month. YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE! For the remainder of the month, I will be posting to bring awareness to suicide. Kaleb Reents was my brother and best friend. He was a husband, a father, a son, a brother, an uncle, a friend, a business owner, and SO MUCH MORE. Prior to his death by suicide, I look back and think - CHECK marks! He was also reminiscing about experiences we enjoyed together. Listen up - If you are NOT offering ways for your employees to relax or seek help with mental health services - DO so now! This Mental Health Month, take action. We can’t stop talking about people who are hurting, and we can’t stop advocating for them to get the care they need. Despite the fact that western states like Colorado and Utah routinely appear on "Best Places to Live" lists, the Rocky Mountain region has had a marked problem with residents who die by suicide. It's important to recognize that residents in these idyllic locations are up against many contributing factors to that disenchantment-isolation, substance abuse, inadequate healthcare, financial disparity, transient lifestyle, and even altitude all play a role in the problem. We're proud to share the stories of Colorado-natives and mental health advocates who are helping to bring this crisis to light, so we can all rally around solutions for people in their communities.
