🚀 **Breaking New Ground!** 🚀 We are thrilled to announce a powerful new collaboration between the She Leads Impact Fund and the visionary team behind the documentary “Kicking Balls”! Together, we are taking bold steps to address the deeply entrenched issue of child marriage in India. 🌟 🎥 Directed by #VijayetaKumar and Produced by the renowned #AshviniYardi, Guneet Monga Kapoor, and Achin Jain “Kicking Balls” brings to light the incredible stories of 200 teenage girls from three villages in Rajasthan, where an NGO is using football to combat child marriage. These young girls, many of whom are child brides, are finding their voices, gaining independence, and building a strong sisterhood through this unique initiative. 🏆We organised a recent #specialscreening in the capital region which drew a remarkable audience of impact investors, emphasizing the urgent need for stronger national and state-level policies to eliminate child marriage by 2030. The film is not just a documentary but a catalyst for change, igniting conversations and driving action towards a brighter future for these young women. 🤝 Our Partnership #SheLeadsImpactFund, VINEYARD FILMS and Sikhya Entertainment are united in this mission to end child marriage and support married girls in rural households. By leveraging storytelling, grant funding, corporate partnerships, and technology, we aim to drive social change and empower young girls trapped in the cycle of early marriage. 💪 Commitment to Change To support this transformative mission, the #SheLeadsImpactFund is providing $25,000 in funding. This contribution will help bring significant, lasting change to the lives of women who were married as children. Together, we are committed to creating a world where every girl has the freedom to dream, learn, and achieve her full potential. Please do write to us in case you would like to join/support this movement with us and stay tuned for more updates on this big movement. Let's make history, one story at a time. 🌍❤️ Ajaita S. What do young women desire most? Money? Power? Influence? 💫 I'd say none of the above! It's the freedom to shape their own lives and make their own choices. 🔑 Choices about their health, education, career, life partner and likes and dislikes !✨ As I journey through the heartlands of India, I meet countless girls in schools, each one brimming with eagerness to soar to new heights. And you know what? Their drive isn't fueled by money; it's about having the confidence and freedom to make decisions about their own lives. 💪 Too often, these girls miss school due to their periods, household chores, or caring for younger siblings. Rarely are they asked about their dreams for the future, as marriage is seen as their ultimate destiny - with families deciding their life partners. Though times are changing, and we're seeing girls shine in every field, yet there's still a mountain to climb to give them equal rights and choices as their male counterparts. 🏔 Each of these girls has her own unique personality and dreams, and it's our duty to provide the wings for them to fly. 🕊️ At Samarpann, we're dedicated to ensuring girls have access to menstrual hygiene products and education essentials. We're also creating robust school infrastructure to ensure they never miss a day of learning. Since 2015, our work has positively impacted over 20,000 girls in rural India. We're breaking taboos and myths through advocacy sessions, empowering not just the girls but their families too. 💬🌟 Let's gift these girls the most beautiful present of all: FREEDOM TO MAKE CHOICES. Each one has her own dreams and personality; it's time to give them the wings to soar. But we can't do it alone. We need your help to drive real change. Share your stories of empowerment, donate to our cause, or simply spread the word. Together, we can create lasting impact. 🌍 If you're a #CSR organization or want to join us on this journey of change, reach out! Let's make dreams a reality together. 💖 #EmpowerGirls #MakeADifference #ChangeMakers #GirlPower #FreedomToChoose #RuralDevelopment #GirlEducation #socialimpact #educationforall #sdg4

Having made the move back from Singapore to Mumbai, the stark reality of a developing nation is in my face (as opposed to fading to the background while I lived here before). These harsh realities were on full display at a recent event by The/Nudge Institute, showcasing bright sparks who are working across sectors to uplift the most marginalized people across the country. Calling out some of the amazing companies below, with a plea across my network to support in any way you can (India folks, this is the ideal place to use those CSR budgets) Careleavers Inner Circle Forum (CLiC) - Founded by orphans who understand exactly how hard it is to leave an orphanage and transition into adult life, with no family to support or guide you, Careleavers helps children transition into adulthood, with financial help, provision of basic necessities (clothing, food, hygeine kits) and counselling, to help them move towards careers and education. Contact Girish Mehta to help directly OutLawed India - Outlawed trains women across marginalized communities (transgender, tribal, backward classes) and remote areas to act as paralegals and community support pillars, helping people, especially women/trans understand their legal rights and protections. They also help place these women as paralegals with law firms. To know more, contact Vibha Nadig I-Stem - I-stem develops technology to help the visually impaired access educational and vocational content, as well as running initiatives to train people with disabilities, then placing them with organizations, enabling them to gain employment. Contact Shakul Sonker Chalo Network - Creates specialized financial products for migrant communities, folks who have no access to any typical banking, lending or other support systems. Contact Priyansha Singh PLEQSUS INDIA FOUNDATION - Working on ending poverty cross the LGBTQIA communities by helping them earn sustainable livelihoods (through micro-farming, artisanal training) and exercise their right to dignity without discrimination. You can find the full list attached here, to know more about Nudge, contact Shaily Shah #charity #support #poverty

The India Philanthropy Report 2024 highlights significant progress and ongoing challenges in social sector spending and philanthropy. Despite a robust annual growth of 13% in social sector spending, India still falls short of NITI Aayog's targets needed to meet the UN SDG commitments by 2030. Encouragingly, private philanthropy is growing, particularly in family and retail donations. However, CSR and HNI donations are growing moderately, indicating room for increased contributions. Women, Now-Gen, and Inter-Gen givers are notably focused on gender equity, diversity, inclusion (GEDI), and climate action. The surge in collaboratives tackling underfunded issues underscores the power of collective efforts, though future growth will rely on domestic momentum and stewardship. #IndiaPhilanthropy #SDGs #SocialSectorSpending #CSR #FamilyPhilanthropy #GEDI #ClimateAction #Collaboratives #ImpactInvesting https://lnkd.in/dkyY8mXe

Every March 8... I wish newspapers and media would stop carrying silly stats on how women in India are major bearers of "unpaid" house work and raising kids. Have we forgotten there are things beyond money? Or even if one sees things in monetary terms, many women in earlier generations raised superstars who went on to create world-class firms and systems which are valued in billions. Isn't this the current valuation of the hard word and sweat and even sacrifice the mothers of these founders and CEOs put in raising them? Educating them ? and even listening to their frustrations even as a 40 year old and taking care of their timely meals? Its just frustrating to read media strewn with making housewives look like pathetic losers! If anything they are the backbone we are looking the country to lead to "विकसित भारत" and "अमृत काल". Imagine if ALL women went out and worked - - There would be no one to listen to your problems at home, - Kids would be in the care of aging grandparents or paid help (we all know how nurturing it is), - We would have a higher % of developmentally delayed kids due to lack of attention at home , - Leading to more expenditure on therapies and healthcare, - More food would be ordered from outside, - leading to more illnesses and higher medical expenses in the long-term. and so on an so forth. Now I am not saying its only the woman's job to run the house - but let's be practical, this is the reality - 90% women give up their high paying jobs for a smooth raising of kids and home and everyone accepts after a point that men need to be the beard - earner! The only way I see this changing is men step up equally in life skills (like cooking, cleaning etc) to raising kids. So in essence - let's not celebrate Women's Day - we already know we can do it all. We don't want to be equal, we are unique. All we want is a seat at the table! #womeninfinance #womenentrepreneurs #internationalwomenday #women

Dweepsree, a beacon of women's empowerment in Lakshadweep, is rewriting narratives by liberating women from societal confines. Inspired by Kerala's 'Kudumbashree,' Dweepsree catalyzed financial independence, liberating women from traditional roles. Transitioning from domestic confines, these women now thrive in micro-enterprises, contributing significantly to poverty reduction in the Islands. With units engaged in cultivation, jewellery making, food processing, and handicrafts, Dweepsree is a force of economic empowerment. The initiative, supported by Jan Shikshan Sansthan, not only imparts skills but also fosters equality and independence. Through low-interest microfinance facilities, Dweepsree emerges as a catalyst for financial resilience. Empowering differently-abled individuals, it strives to bring them into the mainstream, offering newfound experiences and opportunities. Dweepsree heralds a transformative journey towards equality, confidence, and economic self-sufficiency for the women of Lakshadweep. https://lnkd.in/dAvJ_YpB #womensempowerment #lakshadweep #breakingbarriers #financialindependence #economicempowerment #povertyreduction #skilldevelopment #microfinance #differentlyabled

Women on Wings experts contributed 1498 pro bono hours during a six-month period last year! This is how we solve challenges together with our social enterprise and government institution partners. That’s 36.7 full-time work weeks by volunteer professional experts in six months’ time. This pro bono work is a value of €187,250 in experienced business consulting. These hours are a 41% increase over the prior six-month period! This increase in hours is important because it means even more Indian social enterprises and government institutions can collaborate with Women on Wings team and experts on building their business to make more employment opportunities for women living in rural India. These partnerships ultimately give women the agency to move their families beyond poverty. Here’s to making a difference together! #probono #vriwilliger #vriwilligerswerk #businessconsulting #socialenterprise
