Have you ever heard about the Two Year Rule? Its a little rule of thumb that Alan often talks about. Our careers are typically ~30 years in length. Within those 30 years, there are 15 two-year "sprint" intervals. Are you making the most of your "Two Year Sprint"? For ambitious professionals, who are looking to grow in title and compensation, it's important not to get stale in a role. Always be seeking change and growth. It could be moving UP via a promotion or gaining more scope Or it could be moving OVER into a function or region of unfamiliarity But if you are not able to move UP or OVER at your current employer, it might be time to get the hell OUT. Remember, that contract you signed: we are all employed at will. And if our current company is not supporting our career growth, then it's a clear signal to exercise our will and pursue greener pastures. NAPEO President and CEO Casey Clark was recently featured in a CEO Update article about his experience as a first-time CEO! Today marks my 3 year anniversary working at CPL Life Science. My 3 biggest takeaways from the past 3 years are: 1. Know your “why” and use that to drive you through those bad days. 2. Being organised - writing a daily plan is key to successful time management. 3. Celebrate the wins no matter how small they are, recruitment is a tough gig especially when you’re fully remote. What’s been your biggest takeaway from your role?

But in thinking, Thoreau never met the amazing and forever-hard-working team at ATC - Talent Acquisition Events & Media ✨ There are moments that happen in life that you won't ever forget, amazing people you meet, valuable lessons and learnings you take, and opportunities that you never thought possible. That is the best way I can describe the last 48 hours at #atc2023 🎡🎪 To take the stage to speak (for the first time without a wedding band behind me) surrounded by the smartest people I've ever met working in and across the TA landscape, it is not lost on me that just 2 years ago, I had no experience at all working in Talent Acquisition. A HUGE thank you to Jo Vohland and her team for this opportunity, what you do and put on these last 2 days is nothing short of incredible. A forever thank you to my unpaid agents Lauren Sharp & Craig Watson, who have shouted my name at anyone who would listen since the ITA's, and opened more doors for me than I could actually pay them to do. And to Edan Haddock 🐟 who despite his jam-packed days of hosting, facilitating and all-around comedic duties - spent the entire last week cheering me on every chance he could.
