Freelancers and projects: A love-hate relationship. I've intentionally used the same intro as our company post because it really captures the essence of this topic. I completely agree. Finding new projects is definitely one of the toughest parts of freelancing, and our latest study confirms that. But once you've found the right assignment, you give it your all! When we think of freelancers hustling for clients, we often imagine someone super busy, sending tons of emails and making countless calls. But here's the surprising part from our survey: Most freelancers (60%) actually rely on passive ways to get clients (recruiting services, referrals, follow-up opportunities). Is that how it works for you too?

“Do Newbie Freelancers Struggle?” A prospect asked me this wonderful question And My answer was fast, simple and straightforward; Yes they do! Why? Because Most Newbie freelancers jump into freelancing without guidance Most niches I know take months or years of learning Before Practicing Freelancing is the one where people think they can just jump in “Yes I have a skill, I can just freelance with it, earn dollars I don’t need to learn anything about it I can wing it, The Jobs will fall on my laps” People will do this, go through trial and error Then come to the realization that they need to learn “Oh I need a coach, which course can I get” Some will just tell themselves “Freelancing does not work” Why will it work? Did you go to your place of work without your years of schooling? So Yes a lot of Newbie Freelancers struggle And they will continue to If they don’t follow the right path Simple as ABC #freelancer #freelancing #freelancers #upwork #freelancerclientmagnet #proudteacher #FCM #upworksuccess

Content fairy 🧚♀️ | I help busy entrepreneurs, founders, and CEOs tell their stories and show up authentically on LinkedIn.
I've been freelancing since 2017. One attribute I consistently find in successful individuals - initiative. I've noticed numerous wannabe freelancers don't even do their research. ➡️ They just often ask, "how?", without reading the instructions already available. ➡️ Many ignore advice generously offered by those who offer to mentor them. Instead, they seek shortcuts and view freelancing as quick money. 🚨Spoiler alert🚨 It's not. They fail to understand #freelancing is akin to establishing a business. Sadly, they're the ones who often fall prey to deceptive "coaches." I see so many of these low-effort "how" posts on: - Facebook - Reddit, and even - Threads On the contrary, these are the signs I know someone has done their research: ✅ They pose insightful and detailed questions (not just how?) ✅ They customize their cover letter and samples to align with the job requirements ✅ They propose relevant solutions or ideas -- Do you have what it takes to be a great freelancer? Take initiative.🌟

Tips & Tricks for Freelancers! 💼✨ Hello, family on LinkedIn! 👋 Although freelancing has its own set of difficulties, it may also be very profitable with a little planning. Five pointers from my experience as a freelancer are as follows: 1.Find your niche and make it your own! Niche Down, Stand Out! In addition to showcasing your experience, specialization draws clients who are looking for particular skills. What is your sweet spot for freelancing? 2.Create Unambiguous Contracts: Say goodbye to handshake agreements! A well-drafted contract is essential for freelancers. To prevent misunderstandings and guarantee a good working relationship, clearly define the project's scope, timeframes, and payment terms. 3.Don't Just Connect: Building a network involves more than just obtaining contacts. Participate in pertinent topics, contribute thoughts, and interact with your network. Sincere relationships frequently result in wonderful chances. How do you take care of your business relationships? 4.Accept Ongoing Education: The world of freelancing is changing quickly. Invest time in learning new techniques, instruments, and market trends to stay ahead of the curve. A successful freelancer is one who is inquisitive. Which new talent did you recently add to your arsenal for freelancing? Successful freelancers don't wait for opportunities to find them, they create their opportunities. It doesn't happen over night, at least not at first. But with time, persistence, and consistency, opportunities will start to appear. "For almost every “overnight success” you see in freelancing, the freelancer has put in tons of hours of hard work to build up to that success. They aren’t just sitting behind their computer praying for work to come in; they’re taking steps to actively make it happen. And even if those steps don’t pan out right away, they don’t give up. They refine their strategies and move forward." Read more in my latest newsletter post (link in comments) #freelancewriting #freelancing #freelancesuccess

Freelancing series, Lesson 3 (Continued) Step 6: Define Your Work Terms. Avoid client conflicts by outlining key work terms upfront. Include your availability, scope of work, project duration, working process, edit/revisions policy, and payment terms. Consider charging in advance for smoother payment processing. Clearly state your terms in proposals or during client discussions. Be firm but flexible in negotiations. Step 7: Organize Your Documents. As a freelancer, you'll need key documents like a portfolio, proposal, contract, invoice, and NDA. Your portfolio showcases your work, while your proposal pitches your services. Contracts ensure clarity on work terms, and invoices facilitate payment. NDA's protect client information. Customize these documents to suit your needs and always maintain professionalism. Step 8: Enhance Your Social Media Profiles. Update your profile picture, bio, and cover image to reflect your brand professionally. Plan a content strategy focusing on your niche, and create engaging posts regularly. Cross-promote content across platforms to increase visibility. Keep your content relevant to attract your target audience. Step 9: Your clients define your business. Learn to find and close clients effectively—it's the essence of freelancing success. Focus on getting your first client quickly for invaluable real-life experience. Use a personalized cold outreach template for effective client communication. Follow up diligently to secure responses. Explore methods like leveraging your network, social media, cold emailing, networking events, and referrals for client acquisition. Avoid demoralizing avenues like certain Facebook Groups and excessive ad spending. Step 10: Closing Your First Client: The Prospect Call. The prospect call is your chance to understand your potential client and pitch your offer. Prepare by researching the prospect and crafting questions. Keep the call short, ask plenty of questions, and stay calm. It's not an interview; it's a conversation to build understanding and trust. P.S: Close your first client by following these steps. The Dark Side of Freelancing We all know that Freelancing almost became like a magic pill for people who want to earn six, seven or even eight figures. But do you know that... as many new freelancers are coming in, the same number of old freelancers [existing for some years] are leaving this gig-life. When I started 4 years back, the marketing and Freelancing field was much easier than today. Fresh talent is aplenty today. Experienced talent? guess its way too less What exactly is happening that Freelancers are leaving the field? I am going to write more about this in my next post. Meanwhile, the comments are open for your wild thoughts to flow :-) #marketing #freelancers
