At the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024 in India, CEO of Aircom Automotive, Dominik Gschwender, along with CEO of REMSONS Ind Ltd, Amit Srivastava, discussed the strategic joint venture between their two market-leading companies.
Aircom Automotive is known for revolutionizing the automotive industry with TireMobilityKits (TMK), designed to replace spare wheels. Offering substantial benefits such as space, weight, and CO2 savings, along with faster and easier puncture repairs, TMK has been a global market leader since 2011. Aircom aims to eliminate the need for spare wheels, providing drivers peace of mind in case of tire punctures.
On the other hand, Remsons Industries Limited is a leading manufacturer in India specializing in control cables, flexible shafts, gear shifters, and brake assemblies with over 50 years of experience.
Dominik Gschwender shared insights into the innovative approach of Aircom: "Since 2011, Aircom has been a global market leader, holding over 60% market share worldwide and nearly 75% in Europe. Our goal is to revolutionize the passenger car segment by introducing a new concept where the fifth wheel is no longer needed, providing drivers peace of mind in case of tire punctures."
Discussing product development and localization, Dominik explained: "We manufacture in Europe, specifically in Poland, with local content in all regions where we operate. We have seen impressive potential in the Indian market, which is why we are considering production here as well."
Amit Srivastava, Group CEO of Remsons, emphasized the main principles of cooperation with OEMs: "We closely collaborate with OEMs, ensuring a stable supply chain for this innovative solution. Our joint venture with Aircom aims to lead the market, offering significant benefits in terms of space, costs, and comfort for travelers."
Regarding product customization for different tire sizes, Amit explained: "Our products are tailored to a wide range of tire sizes, with adjustable compressor power and sealant volume. Localizing production in Pune will further strengthen our ability to efficiently meet diverse requirements."
Dominik Gschwender shed light on the joint venture's timeline and plans: "We initiated the joint venture almost two years ago and aim to have the Pune plant operational by next summer. Our goal is to achieve localization at the level of 70 to 80%, ensuring cost competitiveness and excellent quality."
Highlighting India's growing significance in the global market, Dominik revealed: "While India remains a strong domestic market, its significance at the global level reflects shaping international trends and dynamics. We also see it becoming a crucial source of components worldwide.
This marks the beginning of a promising future for the industry!"

It's always so interesting, and enriching, to have a good conversation with an industry leader. And, there are different dimensions in the discussion when that leader happens to be someone who is running a global show. It was nice to meet again, and have a good discussion with Sachin Lawande, President and CEO, Visteon Corporation, on topics ranging from technology and innovation, to new business strategy, India growth bet, and more.
Some of what we discussed is captured in the following article. Also find in it why the global Tier1's CEO would "venture a bet" on India becoming the first market for one of Visteon's upcoming tech laden offering. -- https://bit.ly/48Fj3pJ
