Listening to the NVIDIA earnings call this evening and with the Intuitive Machines rover planned to touch down on the moon tomorrow… I can’t help but feel completely inspired by the shift we are currently in. So much opportunity for seismic shifts in literally every corner of every industry. We’ll look back on this time in 10, 20 years with the same nostalgia that we look back at times before the internet, now. It’s a lot of fun using and developing this technology in typically ‘non digital’ companies. Will be interesting to see which ones end up being the Blockbusters of the 2020’s unable to shift fast enough or with too much remained focus on their original business model... and what new startups will bloom into the next Nvidias. 🚀 🌔

Convai is turning NPCs into main characters (at least in their own minds!) The startup is building software that enables game developers to give NPCs the power of AI. So instead of NPCs generating a finite number of scripted responses, they can act and react autonomously based on their environment and the game's rules and limitations. Multiple threads came together that led Purnendu Mukherjee to start Convai: -- he was always interested in how the human brain works -- he worked on generative AI at NVIDIA after college -- at Nvidia, he had trouble connecting text-based systems to voice and avatars -- essentially, the challenge was replicating parts of the human mind Now, he's built the solution he was looking for.
