Ahead of the 2024 Hankook #PortlandEPrix, we're pleased to announce that St. Johns Centre for Opportunity is the latest recipient of the ‘Better Futures Fund’. Formula E will be supporting St. Johns Centre for Opportunity (SJCO) for the first time in Portland, through a donation of €25,000. SJCO primarily aims to advance equity through community building and people-centred economic development. Its vision is centred around breaking barriers to build a thriving, more equitable neighbourhood for all community members, recognising that economic disparities exist within society and its community members. This #GivingTuesday, if you are in a position to give, consider donating to City Systems, my nonprofit focused on urban problem-solving: https://lnkd.in/guFpzYgE In 2023, City Systems completed: 🏡 A plug-in garage ADU (aduo.org) in the Bay Area, as covered by the SF Chronicle, CBS News, and Palo Alto Online 🗺 An address lookup tool for ADU buildability that works on 1.5 million parcels in southern California, for OCCOG (Orange County Council of Governments) (https://lnkd.in/g_BJ23wH) 📈 A stock tracker for Silicon Valley companies that automatically updates daily, for Joint Venture Silicon Valley (https://lnkd.in/gYbcyqex) 🏙 Data-driven projects in Longmont, CO and Fort Worth, TX, in partnership with Delivery Associates 📰 Contributions to San Francisco Chronicle's SFNext 10 Big Ideas project (https://lnkd.in/gg2PjE-F) And more! Consider a tax-deductible donation to City Systems an alternative kind of "effective altruism" -- that is, you know it's effective because you know the quality of my work, and can hold me directly accountable! 🙏

"During the pandemic, the rise in remote work created an influx of residents from large urban centres keen to take advantage of Haliburton County’s housing prices, which are still lower than in places like Toronto. The economic gap between the year-round residents and the seasonal visitors increased and with it, the area’s affordable housing challenges. The role of Places for People was becoming increasingly important. Still, creating more affordable housing projects would require larger sums of money. Enter Tapestry Community Capital." Thanks Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) Société canadienne d'hypothèques et de logement(SCHL) for sharing the Tapestry Places for People story! As part of the Virginia Community Engagement Index (VCEI), we found that 51% of respondents had donated $25 or more in the past year to a nonpolitical cause. Only 8% of respondents reported that they haven't found a cause they care enough about to support financially. In short, when people can afford to, most are willing to invest in the causes they believe in through philanthropic support. Dear FormulaE Team I'm writing to you in regards to the 2024 Hankook London E-Prix Volunteering Portal. As I've been offered the role of Gaming Arena Champion for the 2024 Hankook London E-Prix (for all three days (19th to 21st July) but I'm not gaining access to my portal to accept the offer, select the hours and to upload the signed documents. I've requested a password reset multiple times, but haven't received anything to reset my password. Please, could you advise who could help me with this as we only have until today (Monday 1st July) to confirm our spaces and I don't want to lose my space. I received the offer on Saturday (29th June) in the evening. These are my details: Laureen Hatscher [email protected] I've tried multiple times to reach out via email and social media as well as via phone incl messaging staff directly on LinkedIn, without success. I'm disappointed that it's so hard to gain a response from the department responsible for the volunteers, particularly on time sensitive matters like this. Thank you in advance for any help or connections you can offer! Have a brilliant week ahead! 😊🏎 Vamos and BR, Laureen Hatscher
