But the wine business is just interesting enough—when it gets to a certain quality level—to keep people engaged and interested in learning more and aspiring to be involved themselves.” The doomsday stuff is tiresome and depressing. Also unbelievably unproductive. This is a realistic take. Better business practices, more media and marketing investment and genuine consumer cultural and life stage connection will make the competitive difference to wine brands for success over the next 5-10 years. We need to grow the category. We are in the beverage business.
