Three days of HAUPTSTADTKONGRESS, exciting panels, great conversations, and fresh insights. Our healthcare system faces many challenges – but there are also countless innovative solutions and new ideas. Representing us on-site were Karen Piontek and Serap Konak. This year, as part of the event, the first #HSK Innovation Pitch took place, which we at Flying Health were pleased to support together with KPMG and Springer Medizin. After the Pre-Pitches, the four finalists - myScribe GmbH (Ira Romy Alice Stoll), sqior medical (Philipp Wolf), AMMEVA GmbH (Dr. med. Franz Koettnitz), and biopeak GmbH (Jonathan Chmiel) - had the chance to present their solutions in front of leading experts in the healthcare industry. In the end, it was Biopeak that impressed the jury of scientific leaders – Dr. Matthias Bracht, Dr. med. Iris Hauth, Vera Lux, and Wolfgang von den Bergh – the most and was awarded first place. Congratulations to the entire team. We look forward to following your journey. A big thank you to Sevilay Huesman-Koecke, Dr. med. Wiebke Kreß, Falk H. Miekley, and Prof. Karl Max Einhäupl for the excellent collaboration on the Innovation Pitch – it was a pleasure working with you. Additionally, a huge shoutout to the entire HSK team for their fantastic work in organizing a thoroughly successful event. We look forward to next year. #AI #ArtificialIntelligence #Innovation #Healthcare HAUPTSTADTKONGRESS Lab

It’s #MSKMonday and with Ortho Summit #OSET23 coming up next week, I thought I would share my recap of last year’s meeting with my audience (such a jam packed meeting it had to be a two part series - so don't miss the second link). Some of the themes that emerged last year are likely to be even bigger topics of conversation this year – particularly biologic augmentation of soft tissue repair (prominently #rotatorcuff), the role for #robotics and other #digital tools in the world of #MSK, #painmanagement, and #regenerativemedicine. What is going to be new – I can’t wait to see. Kevin Plancher, MD, MPH, FAOA, FAAOS Beth Best Ira Kirschenbaum MD Lara Wynne❗️ https://lnkd.in/ed9fUiFG https://lnkd.in/e9rDx9cs

💥 How do we create a PROvolution? 💥 🗣 That was the lively discussion during this weeks H2O & Aarhus Universitetshospital event 'Dive into the implementation of #patientreportedoutcomes in Copenhagen. 🗨 Together with other expert speakers, Jørgen Schøler Kristensen Jesper Kjær Joost Enzing Andrew Thomson, we discussed the role of PROs in decision making. Based on the different evidence requirements within Europe, I pledge for creating good quality real-world data, that can be considered for decision making. Ideally, we build on existing primary data that is interoperable to be used for secondary purposes as well. Thanks to Thomas Metcalfe for moderating this session. 🙌 I also appreciated the discussion in the first round table, moderated by Tanja Stamm with Valentina Strammiello, Linetta Koppert, Simone Lubowitzki, Prof. Annette de Thurah and Prof. Matthias Rose focusing on the practical implementation and finding the 'right' balance of meaningful to patients, being actionable and ensuring a high scientific quality without being a burden for physicians and patients. My take-aways from this exciting round tables: 👉 I feel the urgency to collect PROs in clinical practice to support the conversation between patients and physicians, enabling shared decision making, while this quality data may also relevant for decision making. Its the right time to start, continue and increase the implementation of PROs! Let’s reshape the future of patient-reported outcomes together!

Listening to all the other inspiring presentations at FTI Gent's 'The Summit' reinforced my belief in Flanders' potential to be the global leader in technological innovation, but... Being a leader in innovation is challenging, especially in healthcare. More than any other sector, we need to innovate responsibly. But if we want to be a leader, we need a more balanced approach to innovation. Of course we need to continue building on the systems we know and trust. We also need to recognise that we're facing some serious challenges that won't be solved through incremental improvements alone - and innovate accordingly. At Byteflies our approach to innovation is a prime example of this. In cardiology, our solutions streamline established processes, making a lot of people's lives more comfortable. In neurology, our solutions are novel for most care providers, but can be life-altering for people with epilepsy. Small steps add up, but big leaps transform. Flanders is home to many visionary companies with cutting-edge technology, built by some of the brightest minds in the world. For us to realize our potential and cement ourselves as a world leader in technological innovation, we need all stakeholders to take a collective leap of faith. We must dare to trust, dare to lead. Let’s take the leap together. https://lnkd.in/etBZ8bZ6 #FTIgent #healthcareinnovation #innovation Wintercircus Ghent

Looking forward to this event as part of All.Can Sverige and advocating how modern, digital technologies can and should create value in #healthcare, in this case specifically focused on #cancer and #precisionmedicine. There are many good examples (use cases) to scale and to learn from! Change Management is essential when it comes to accelerating the adoption of new tools and processes in healthcare. Hence, the importance of upskilling all leaders across the ecosystem, to enable and empower our healthcare professionals to achieve more.
