You can filter Boeing out of your flight search- by Chris Dong and Hannah Sampson U.S. airlines returned Boeing 737 Max 9 planes to service in late February, after a weeks-long grounding order from the Federal Aviation Administration. The FAA issued the order Jan. 5 after a door plug blew out on an Alaska Airlines flight so the model could be inspected. The grounding of about 170 aircraft caused widespread cancellations. Since then, Boeing has made headlines for a spate of incidents on flights. When the Boeing 737 Max was grounded in 2019 after two deadly crashes, some passengers vowed to avoid the aircraft. The Federal Aviation Administration lifted the ban on all variants of the 737 Max 20 months later. However, travelers didn’t avoid the aircraft en masse once it returned, as anticipated by some in the industry. The factor may have been timing. The ungrounding was in November 2020 at the height of the pandemic, when passenger volumes were a fraction of a typical travel period. #boeing #travel #newyorkiptv https://lnkd.in/ewi4VTyD

US aviation authorities are poised to propose changes in the next few weeks to standards governing public charters, a controversial corner of the travel industry that has pitted some of the largest airlines against one another. The rise of public charters has split some of the nation’s biggest carriers, with American Airlines Group Inc. and Southwest Airlines Co. calling to close what they see as a regulatory loophole to address safety concerns and improve security. #aircraft #legalservices #ntsb #faa #newyork #newjersey #pilotlaw #aviationindustry #aviationregulations #aviation #aviationlaw

Yesterday, JetBlue joined American Airlines, Alaska Airlines and Frontier Airlines in offering a no-fee guarantee that children 13 years and younger may sit next to an adult traveling with them on the same reservation. Perks like these mean different things to different people. I was curious what “level” of flyer is most likely to choose one airline over another with this guarantee. On Suzy’s proprietary panel, I asked 500 US adults ages 30-55, with kids at home, how often they fly. It turns out 52% fly once a year or less. Not a ton of airtime for Mom and Dad.. Of this group of “infrequent flyers”, 55% said they are ‘likely’ or ‘very likely’ to choose an airline offering this exact perk over another with a more favorable flight time. Will be interesting to see how many more airlines follow suit.. #marketresearch #consumerinsights

Good conversation for present and future business aviation pilots! With all the variables, there's usually something unexpected. What passengers don't realize is that much of it is out of the pilot's control, but the pilots are still the ones who have to take the blame, smile, and fix it. Also a good reason to provide scenario based training for everyone in your flight department... #aviation #aviationindustry #leadership #safety #businessaviation #bizav #generalaviation #airplane #aircraft #flightattendant #training #fly #flying #pilot #pilotlife #pilotjobs #aircraftsales Solairus Aviation #charterflight #corporateaviation #corporatejet #communication #dispatch #learning

Exactly ... JSX is safely operating as a Part380 air carrier with FAA approved OPS SPECS, GOM, SMS, FOQA, ASAP, TFSSP, Hazmat WNCM, Fatigue program, FAA certificated Flight Attendants, all pilots PIC type rated with airline standard initial and recurrent training, a thorough and documented upgrade process and IOE for all SICs and PICs, and comprehensive SOPs. JSX has a highly trained professional maintenance, airport services, and flight operation emphasizing safety, security, reliability, and efficiency for a unique customer service experience. This is not a safety issue, but one of eliminating effective competition and air service to all JSX communities. https://lnkd.in/grmySsmZ Finally, as American and ALPA should know, JSX routinely passes the same IATA operational safety audit (the gold standard in the aviation industry) that applies to codesharing arrangements involving Part 121 airlines, including American and many of the U.S. airlines for which ALPA’s members fly.”
Creating aviation/aerospace education ecosysystems with government, industry and education workforce development programs to connect kids and parents to aviation and aerospace career opportunities
Okay, if JSX is what American Airlines is worrying about in the face of NO strategy in New York, and ringing its hands over the competition from, um, #essentialairservice routes from SkyWest Airlines, no wonder it is such a mess. Perhaps it should worry more about competing with United Airlines and Delta Air Lines. From Gary Leff at #viewfromthewing: Meanwhile the 1,500 hour rule (which has some exceptions), has no demonstrated safety benefit. No other country has adopted it. And ALPA members happily fly to Europe where the rule doesn’t exist, and fly in U.S. airspace alongside foreign pilots that aren’t required to follow it. https://lnkd.in/dJ6sq3Dr
