🌈🌸With summer in full swing, we’ve been upgrading the farm to help elevate our ability to produce vibrant veggies! This progress wouldn’t be possible without our amazing #Volunteer groups, such as Taiwanese American Professionals - San Francisco (TAPSF). This organization promotes Taiwanese-American identity across the Bay Area by hosting community service events and partnering with local organizations. 🇹🇼🫶 🏡🌳We’ve had the pleasure of partnering with TAPSF since before the farm began, where they helped us plan various AsianWeek Database Project events. Most recently, TAPSF volunteers enhanced our vegetable beds by adding support poles for nets, protecting transplanted sprouts. 💧🌱 🎉☀️Huge shout out to Tiffany for making this connection happen! We’re truly grateful to the wonderful volunteers who help our farm flourish. We’d love to have you join us at our next Saturday Open Farm Day. 🍅💗 https://lnkd.in/gBV9R9M3 #NonProfit #Volunteerism #Partnerships

Helping overwhelmed service providers reclaim their time and grow their business || Digital Business Manager || Brand Strategist || Dubsado Specialist
Storytelling time. :) While working for Generali Employee Benefits - GEB in Prague (04/2014-01/2020), I brought a hamburger-shaped piggy bank to the office. I always tried, in every workplace, to make it more humane - to make it feel a bit like it's mine. I wasn't used to carrying coins - in my home country, their value is low, so people tend to use banknotes when paying cash. So I always put my Czech coins in that piggybank and encouraged my colleagues to do so as well. Well, like I always say, all good things come to an end... so better things can follow. I loved that job in Generali - I loved the crazy-diverse people I worked with, all the things I learned in my ten years and three countries with the company, and I loved all the traveling I got to do in the many countries I supported in our region and around the world. When the time came for me to leave - I quit Corporate to travel the world and run my own EntrepreneurShip activity - I had this heavy piggybank full of coins. I knew I wanted to do something impactful with that cash. I always felt, deep within my gut, mind, and heart, that humanity cannot progress if, at an individual level, we only look after ourselves. The world is bleeding when we don't care about others, too. But I didn't know what to do. So I did what I do when I lose my compass: I looked within. Poverty is one of my greatest fears. Growing up in a post-communist country in the 90s, I have seen poverty high and low. I have seen inequality, corruption, and addiction at school, in traffic, and so on. My Mum worked for many years in an orphanage, and I often volunteered with an NGO there since I was 14 years old, so I saw firsthand what poverty does to a family and what it means not to have the means to support oneself. I felt the impact of a society that allows its people to fall through the cracks. But back to 2019. After searching within, I did the next best thing: I started searching online for a cause to support. I came across what was then a Czechs and expats Facebook group supporting a group of homeless people in Prague by giving hot meals outside the main train station every Saturday afternoon and occasionally donating clothes. If you ever thought that it takes many to have an impact, yes, you are right. But it takes just a handful of people to have the initiative and a few more to believe in them - good deeds, no matter how small, stack up. :) In 2019, I took my 300 EUR worth of coins to the bank and turned them into an idea that evolved into a campaign to buy 83 sleeping bags for our homeless friends. That Facebook group became an NGO called FriendShip Prague - it has a board, a regular volunteer group, processes in place, strategic collaborations, and so on. ➡️➡️➡️ Find out more & and support us here: https://lnkd.in/exAqm9x4 (you can donate your time, skills, and/or finances).
Thanks to YOUR generosity and our awesome volunteers, FriendShip Prague had a powerful start to 2024! Together, we've supported the homeless community with food, clothes, and crucial help in this cold month. Every donation and every volunteer matters. Interested in joining us? On May 17, Grapevine hosted The Power of Giving Circles: A Deep Dive on the Landscape of Collective Giving webinar to further explore the fascinating research released last month on Giving Circles. We were honoured to be joined by the researchers of the study, Adriana Loson-Ceballos, PhD and Michael D. Layton, to talk about the groundbreaking findings and reveal the enormous contributions of the Grapevine community to this growth and expansion. There’s no question that Grapevine Giving Circles are a key force in driving the sector’s growth. 🔥 🌟 60% of all Giving Circles are currently part of the Grapevine community 🌟 44% of all new Giving Circles over the past three years of tremendous growth were launched by Grapevine 🌟 To date, the Grapevine community has contributed significantly to the overall numbers by donating $35M to 4,500 nonprofits across 1,150 groups! 📌 Watch a recording of the webinar and learn more about the research here: https://lnkd.in/g3uVUfy6

For #HispanicHeritageMonth consider going to your organization’s “Charitable Giving online program” (I.e. Benevity or others) and selecting Veronica Robles Cultural Center (VROCC). We are an organization that promotes Latin American arts and cultures as an engine for stronger communities and economic growth. If we aren’t in the system, your community relations, or social impact leader can point you in the right direction. During Hispanic Heritage Month (Sep 15 to Oct 15) some organizations will double or triple match contributions to Latino organizations. A great way to make your donation go a long way. Consider us when selecting your community impact contribution!!! If you are a Hispanic or Latino ERG leader consider in Massachusetts, consider making a difference in your DEI community pillar strategy by highlighting organizations like VROCC!! #erggiving #socialimpact #latinos #hispanic #charitablecontribution #employeegiving #magnifyyourcontribution #communitygiving #benevity #charitablegiving #community #employeerrsourcegroup #affinitygroup #businessresourcegroup #brg

As we approach the end of the year we begin to look at what we have all achieved and the difference that has been made to our local community. Nelson Mandela once said: "we can change the world and make it a better place. It is in our hands to make a difference" and it is with these words that we remind ourselves of why we volunteer. Dear Friends and Colleagues, Throughout my career in the nonprofit sector, I have dedicated myself to supporting various organizations whose reach and impact extend locally, nationally, and globally. My journey has been deeply enriched by my long-standing commitment as a volunteer for numerous causes, allowing me to witness firsthand the transformative power of community engagement. Recently, I came across an inspiring article, "Strengthen Your Business By Putting Your Values Into Action," written by Kendra Davenport, President and CEO of Easterseals, and published by Forbes Nonprofit Council. You can access the article by following this link: https://lnkd.in/efByWAay article resonated with me profoundly, as it aligns with my belief in the importance of volunteerism and its potential to foster meaningful collaborations within the nonprofit community. I am excited to share some key takeaways from Davenport’s insightful piece and offer my thoughts on how smaller nonprofits can leverage volunteerism to build strong, collaborative relationships. I hope this post inspires you to explore new ways to connect and collaborate within your community.
