We can create highly efficient and compact photonic components with remarkable performance using an adjoint-based inverse design technique. Know more about Tidy3D's inverse design here: https://lnkd.in/g3hvjVi2 Mode manipulation is essential in integrated photonic circuits. We facilitate seamless coupling between diverse optical components by achieving efficient conversion between different waveguide modes with minimal loss. This not only enhances data transmission bandwidth through techniques like mode-division multiplexing but also allows for the seamless coupling between diverse optical components on the chip. In one of our featured examples, we demonstrate the topology optimization of a waveguide mode converter. With this approach, we successfully created a converter that converts from TE0 to TE1 modes.
