As Greater Seattle Partners launches our second annual SelectUSA Spin-off this week in King County, WA Pierce County, and Snohomish County, WA it’s good see companies attracted to the region from last year’s SelectUSA Spin-off like CHARGEPOLY grow in the region. As an Economic Developer, concrete outcomes growing jobs and investment is the target. Economic opportunity is the foundation for making life better for all in a region. Last week Chargepoly CEO Laurent GUYON and Chris Kang Perkins Coie LLP joined the global conversation with an EV company from #Taiwan visiting the #Seattle region. It’s excellent to see a recently-landed company like Chargepoly “pay it forward” by sharing insights with others in industry as GSP seeks to further cultivate the ecosystem through attraction. I like the saying, “not only to survive, but to thrive”. It takes a lot of employee involvement in this process and on going engagement and intervention. This is the very reason why Governments and Ministries of Justice and their Corrections Department cannot reduce budgets in the area of prison rehabilitation and education. Otherwise these types of reentry programs will never survive and deliver results that are at the core of breaking the prison cycle and reducing reoffending and lowering recedevism rates.
