🍀 Happy St. Patrick's Day! 🍀 Today, as the Irish celebrate their national holiday, it's got us thinking about luck, risk, and how it all ties into the world of digital marketing. We often hear about "the luck of the Irish," but in business, luck isn't just about chance - it's about creating opportunities and taking calculated risks. In digital marketing, we're no strangers to risk. Every campaign, every strategy, involves a certain level of risk-taking. Whether it's trying out a new platform, investing in a cutting-edge technology, or launching a bold campaign, there's always an element of uncertainty. But here's the thing about luck: it favours the bold. Just like St. Patrick himself, who took the bold step of bringing Christianity to Ireland, we too must sometimes take risks to achieve our goals. THOUGHT OF THE WEEK: I don’t buy the notion that great marketing and advertising is all about being brave. Magic happens when people take intelligent risks. Now clearly you can take really dumb risks. Although it’s possibly a brave thing to do, taking a shortcut across the M4 whilst blind drunk after the office Christmas party is clearly a bad idea. Going with your instinct to defy Google Maps’ insistence that you should take the Northern Line home at pub kicking out and hopping on a bus instead is the kind of calculated risk that’s probably worth taking.
