However, to build a truly effective in-house communication and content team, it's crucial to understand the distinct roles required. A traditional advertising agency is structured into three primary departments for creative ideas: 1. Client Services (CS): This department acts as a bridge between management and the creative team. Even without external clients, the management is the client. A CS person ensures tasks are completed promptly, which is essential as creatives may not be inclined to follow up diligently. 2. Concept Team: Comprised of individuals who brainstorm and develop ideas, the concept team collaborates with the art team or external vendors (like production houses) to execute these ideas effectively. 3. Art Team: Responsible for the final product's visual and design elements, the art team focuses on creation rather than writing or presenting. It's important to recognize these distinctions: - A content writer or copywriter is not a designer. - A designer or artist may not be a concept writer or CS. - A creative director's role differs from that of a film director, and each has unique skill sets and perspectives. Combining these roles often leads to a loss of quality.
