Votes cast John Swinney 64, 7 abstentions Scotlands 7th First Minister will be elected via an app that unbelievably seems to be working and its a foregone conclusion that John Swinney will be elected. Remember John? deleting records and data during Covid and the worst Finance minister in history? I watch as a Scot but can't help feeling bitter disappointment that the years of SNP failure and burgeoning mediocrity that has had an impact on our NHS, Education levels at an all time low violent crime at an all time high, and in general the impact on the lives of Scots has had catastrophic consequences. John Swinney has been in the party for 17 years what success has he ever done to make things better? He was instrumental in every failing policy that the SNP administered. I want a Party that will act in the national interests not personal interests. Year after year of the same tired old independence 😴 mantra and a Green coalition was and is a route to disaster. SNP are the architects of division and polarising policies this new FM will in my opinion make absolutely no difference. We can only strive for the dissolution of Holyrood and a general election. Listening to his acceptance speech is also an epic embarrassment. Yes the SNP have delivered continuity, continuity of failure. #snp #johnswinney #independence #thescottishgreens #failure #Scotland #scot #Scots #lornaslater #Firstminister #sturgeon #scottish

Please sign in PRO for Rent Stabilization ESHB 2114 Dear Members and Friends, The Washington Legislature is now considering passing a ground-breaking law that will regulate the cost of rent, extend notice periods for rent increases, limit move-in costs and establish a late fee that cannot exceed 1.5% of monthly rent. The hearing for *House Bill 2114* <https://lnkd.in/gTUaVzDD> is in the Senate Ways & Means Committee on *Thursday, February 22.* *Please sign in Pro before 12:30 p.m. on Thursday. *In the first drop down list please select Pro, add information and position for the committee. Please share widely with your communities and organizations to sign in Pro and make their voices heard. Sign-in PRO <https://lnkd.in/ghkaN_uw> On 2/22/24 the decision to stabilize unregulated rent increases that are causing rent to skyrocket in Washington state will be made. It’s not uncommon for tenants to receive a rent increase that they cannot possibly afford that forces them to become homeless. Senior citizens living on a fixed income are returning to work in low wage jobs so they can pay the rent. This must stop. Please continue to urge leadership to pass HB 2114 and maintain the 7% annual rent cap approved by the House. *ESHB 2114 will cap rent increases at 7% per year. *This will ease the burden of the high cost of rent on vulnerable households and communities. Please sign in Pro to let lawmakers know how you stand on this crucial and lifesaving legislation. Share this message widely to everyone you know who will benefit from rent stabilization. *You can also provide written testimony <https://lnkd.in/gWjnq6e8> for HB 2114* Thank you for showing your support. In addition to signing-in PRO, please let your representatives know by *sending a letter today* <https://lnkd.in/gGPCGRu5>. The result? A more equitable and inclusive future for everyone in our state. Your voice matters, and by expressing your stance, you're actively participating in shaping a better future. *Thank you for your involvement and commitment to this cause.

“The Boston reparations effort should not be dismissed or overlooked. The city’s task force could very well create a reparations model that other municipalities can build upon for their particular context. Reparations won’t come from Washington — they will go to Washington, and the initial local efforts will inform that subsequent congressional act.” ✍🏾 Andre M. Our government should be composed largely of experienced, nonpolitical employees and our mission is to promote and protect the nonpartisan civil service.
