Feel nervous speaking in front of the camera, or worried about forgetting your script? Never fear, as the teleprompter is here! Used by newsreaders & TV presenters for decades, the teleprompter is a clever piece of tech that allows you to essentially look straight down the lens, whilst at the same time read your script as it scrolls at the right pace over a sheet of glass in front of the camera. Ideal for those who have large scripts to read or are just concerned about forgetting what you want to say. The added benefit is that the teleprompter helps to hide the camera, and in turn assists with reducing anxiety and nervousness about being filmed. #videomarketing #videoproduction #videography #smallbusiness

A recent BBC article sheds light on a significant health and safety breach during filming "Fast & Furious 9: The Fast Saga." FF9 Pictures, the filmmakers, was fined £800,000 following an incident where a stuntman suffered brain damage and a broken skull during a staged fight scene. This incident prompts critical considerations for the film industry and workplace safety. https://lnkd.in/eEq6pWud Key Takeaways: Safety Lapses: ⚠️ The safety line detachment during a stunt highlights the need for rigorous safety checks. Failure to Adapt: 🔄 The court's criticism of the lack of adjustment to safety measures post-last-minute stunt changes underscores the importance of adaptability. Legal Consequences: ⚖️ FF9 Pictures faced fines for health and safety failings, emphasising the necessity of strict adherence to regulations. This incident is a stark reminder that workplace safety is paramount, even in the dynamic world of film production. #SafetyFirst #FilmIndustry #WorkplaceSafety #FastAndFurious9 #HealthAndSafety

I’m actually shocked at some comments made in the article. Health and Safety is everywhere and permeates all aspects of work. So much CDM 2015 Temp works and structures involved, use of lifting equipment, equipment/machinery, I can go on and on. As for training people to be aware, as long as the people setting up structures/high risk work are trained and have followed current regulations then it should be all good. That’s just 2 aspects (place, plant, people??) As for basic training&awareness, should be job/role specific, it cant be one size fits all and current/common H&S equipment/signs/segregation areas, etc should apply. It’s nonesense that they’re not aware, it’s been 50 years since HASWA 1974! They’re just not bothered. HSE should be going into film sets as much as construction sites. As H&S manager for a local authority, when companies using our sites for filming, we review all their RAMS and do site set up visit as bare minimum, especially when members of the public might interact at any point with filming crew/site. As for responsibility, it is ultimately the production company, no question about that. Regardless of personal injury settlements, the HSE still has power to prosecute when considered in the public interest.
