Regardless of if the extinguisher has passed the dielectric test BS5306/8:2023 states:- "Only electrically non-conductive extinguishing media, such as non-conductive powder, carbon dioxide or clean agent (see 3.2), should be used on live electrical equipment. Extinguishers containing such media should be provided throughout the premises for use on common electrical hazards (e.g. lighting and small appliances). Dedicated extinguishers should be provided for mains intake/distribution and cooking appliances, which are involved in the greatest number of fires, and for any other potential sources of fires involving live electrical equipment that are identified by the installer/service provider or a fire risk assessment."

Unfortunately a test carried out in ideal laboratory circumstances , with trained individuals is NOT indicative of how the extinguisher is likely to be used in a commercial premises. I’ve talked to people who bragged about how they put the electrical fire out with water and also foam extinguishers and showed me where they were standing . You could still see the stain on the concrete the foam solution left . They are alive due to electrical trips and luck , not a laboratory test . As for using anything water based on fat fires 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️ Dear god .
