Our sales team brought forth a new use-case that wasn’t initially in our immediate roadmap. Our existing plans were in full swing, and they were well aware of it. They proposed a ‘hack,’ a quick solution to address this new opportunity. Hacks can indeed be tempting – minimal effort, minor tweaks, maximum impact. We’ve all been there, and hacks do have their allure. However, our response surprised them. Instead of settling for the minimum, we decided to approach it the right way. Our engineering prowess is such that we can pivot mid-sprint, while our design team is adept at embracing fresh concepts swiftly. All it takes is setting the right priorities, and we will be able to generate the optimal solution. This incident underscores the trust we have fostered within Finout. If we believe we can do better and refine our choices, why not have faith in our colleagues? I take immense pride in being part of the incredible journey here at Finout. Josh Rubin back here again for my 2nd post for #TakeoverTuesday. I joined Spekit because I was personally able to see the impact our product can have on organizations at my prior company. Spekit 🐙 has a unique ability to give confidence to individual contributors to do their jobs most effectively while unlocking a ton of time savings and efficiency for people leaders and subject matter experts. Everyday since joining, I have felt very lucky to work with so many kind, intelligent, and passionate people. Lots of other enablement and knowledge sharing products are destinations where people have to leave what they are doing to find the answers they need. The below photo is from day one of Finisterre (well almost) back in 2003. A lot has changed since then, but much has stayed the same.  Every Friday I'm going to be sharing an insight or learning from 20 years at the helm of Finisterre. Let's call it Founder Fridays.    One of the questions I am most often asked is ‘How did you start it exactly?’ Here was I back in 2003, no business experience, little fashion sense (clearly), but a deep belief held that there was a place in the world for a brand like Finisterre.  Built on strong foundations and a commitment to drive change where I saw it as needed, this is what I set out to build. A lot was not right and needed work (always), but getting underway with something good, that you really believe in, is the most important thing. So it’s really about backing yourself and not letting perfect get in the way of good.   But love to know what you’d like to know... Why did I decide to take on a more substantive role at Sendspark? It comes down to three key things. 1. Team One of the benefits of being a fractional contractor prior to joining a team is the ability for you to really get to know the team, and work out what the culture is like. From Day 1 I have been really impressed with everyone at Sendspark. The passion and energy surrounding the company is phenomenal! Made it a no brainer when Bethany Stachenfeld asked me to come on board to do more. 2. Product There are other video platforms in the space. But Sendspark is building for a niche, for sales, and thinking about things totally differently from our competitors. There are some amazing things being launched over the next month, that I think are going to blow peoples minds. We are already first to market with dynamic videos, I firmly believe we are going to make it easy to include video as a part of every sales reps workflow. 3. Potential Joining an early stage company is a risk always. But in these first few days talking to customers about the product, and the results they are seeing. Its hard not to get excited. The potential is MASSIVE. Will be taking a leaf out of Max Greenwalds book and building in public as we go! Excited to share as we go! #sales #video #growth

How to stay excited about work? This works for me even after decades in the industry. I never stick strictly to my responsibilities. Projects where technology meets business and culture have always fascinated me. I love venturing beyond the limits of tech and product improvements. Since becoming deputy CEO at GR8 Tech, I can officially step outside my usual duty frame. For example, shaping company culture and values isn’t typically part of a CTO’s role. But it’s crucial for achieving tech efficiency and fostering a problem-solving mindset. That’s why I helped draft our values, culture, and vision document. In practice, this means building an innovative tech company requires embracing new ideas, using best coding practices, and finding creative solutions to common problems. Culture might seem mystical and hard to define. In reality, it’s the employees’ everyday actions and behavior.
