Why is this? "Only 26.5% of organizations report having established a data-driven organization...." Because the old adage of "People, Process and Products" really has been ignored at our own peril. When Tech got ahead of the other two, it has caused so much disruption and dysfunction that people lost their ability to adapt. They have been whiplashed for decades and now have developed a "stiff neck" for change. Becoming Data Driven starts with what the end user needs and work backwards from there. A Data Strategy that does not include customers/business as the primary focus for building anything is simply WRONG. But we still see this lack of #Data Strategy being perpetuated improperly today. Starting with the end Application first without consideration for the Data Strategy. #AI anyone? A Strategy that serves the customer/business gives people a place to focus and achieve success. A Strategy defines Process (informed by the People) and Tech (that supports the Process and Outcomes). In that order. Where do D&A departments prove their value the most? In my experience, they play at least three crucial roles, though I think #3 is still underrated: 1️⃣ They ensure transparency of the state of business and support intelligent decision-making through the data insights they provide. 2️⃣ Accelerate the company's financial performance by delivering data use cases impacting the bottom line. 3️⃣ Data & Analytics are the driving force behind corporate culture changes, as they promote data democratization, which leads to increased data accessibility, fostering collaboration and collective intelligence within the organization.
