🎄 Day 20: How engaged are your workforce with DE&I initiatives? Today's tip focuses on the importance of building a culture in which DE&I initiatives are a shared responsibility 👇
Day 20: Encourage participation in DE&I initiatives 🌟 Cultivate a workplace culture where everyone feels a sense of responsibility and is actively encouraged to participate in DE&I initiatives. Stress that diversity and inclusion are collective endeavours, emphasising that each employee plays a vital role in creating an inclusive workplace. To drive internal awareness, establish open channels for communication and feedback, ensuring that employees feel heard and valued. Implement inclusive practices such as diverse representation in decision-making processes and create opportunities for employees to share their unique perspectives. Promoting a sense of shared responsibility, not only benefits your organisation from a more diverse and inclusive environment, but it also builds awareness and understanding among employees, fostering a culture of mutual respect and collaboration.

Helping HR & Managers stop worrying about their teams performance, by transforming people managers through self-awareness, self-confidence & development. Evolved Manager Mastermind | Insights Discovery | HR Support.
Inclusivity is a journey, there’s no end goal. You have to be constantly reviewing, adapting and updating your business to reflect the evolving world of employment and employee's shifting expectations. This means staying informed about changes in legislation, emerging best practices, and shifting cultural norms. You also need to make a habit out of asking for feedback from your employees to ensure that you’re providing the most relevant and effective support. In the Evolved Manager Free Resource hub there's a range of resources to help managers to be equipped with the tools they need to create a fair and inclusive working environment. We launched our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) program at CIG three years ago. Since then, we have sparked a variety of initiatives to improve employee experience. We’ve learned a great deal along the way. For one thing, our employee engagement survey feedback brought to light the importance of community. As I reflect on this, I’d like to share my thoughts on how valuable the I, or Inclusion, is to the full value of DEI. To me, Diversity and Equity illustrate how everyone wants to feel appreciated for who they are and the need to be treated fairly. Inclusion, meanwhile, is recognizing the individual's desire to be part of a larger community. I believe there are two sides to the inclusion coin. One side where people are looking for opportunities to get together and share. On the other, folks might feel like they’re not being included or may even feel excluded. This is where the “I” comes to play in Inclusion. Creating an inclusive environment becomes the responsibility of everyone. We cannot solely rely on our HR department or committees to foster inclusivity. Therefore, our staff is encouraged to uphold the “I” in inclusivity with the phrase, “I will be inclusive.” By making it personal, we stand a better chance of creating an environment where everyone is excited about having more opportunities to be together. I have promised that I will make this personal, and I will be inclusive. What about you?
