Interest is growing significantly in women's football in Europe, highlighted by a recent string of record-breaking attendances in matches across the sport. While the vast majority of the value of European clubs is driven by the brand strength and revenue-generating capacity of the men's football programs, UEFA expects the commercial value of European women's football to grow nearly six times by 2033. With this growth, we expect European women's football clubs will become financially sustainable over the medium term. 3rd Round of the Womens 6 Nations now complete & we've added the results, updated the tables and named the scorers in each match (linking back to their Player Profiles). Most rounds there's a 'new' player who scores and has no Profile on our site, so we add them a new one. France had two such players this weekend (Nassira Konde & Annaelle Deshayes). Our website currently holds all 6N results & tables back to & including 2013, - and all scorers recorded back to & including 2015. We are constantly working on this and will eventually have everything back to the inaugural Home (4) Nations in 1995/6 - including, I hope - scorers, too. Here's how 2024 is going so far: https://lnkd.in/efMZ-NFw

It is now reported that the Victorian government didn't make a pitch to host Matildas matches for the Asian Cup in 2026. However if this is the case it's even more disappointing to see the entitlement and complacency that seems to be rampant in Football Australia. If you have the best women's team sport in the world, why wait for the market to come to you? The AFL and ARL don't, and that's why they get all the attention. It's well overdue for Football Australia to step up and start lobbying for their product. The Victorian government has already invested $42.29 million for The Home of The Matildas - the biggest investment ever made by any level of government for a football-specific project in Australia. So why not take advantage of that investment and pitch the case for a women's AFC final in Melbourne? It's time to disrupt the status quo and take the game to the country's best sporting market. Let's stop playing the victim and start taking action. #Matildas #FootballAustralia #WomenInSports

Women's Elite Rugby (WER) has launched the first professional women’s rugby league in the U.S., set for its debut season in 2025 🇺🇸🏉 With the "Ignite the Change" campaign, WER aims to evolve the rugby landscape, providing domestic opportunities for elite athletes. 🏆 Plans include six to eight teams in the first season, with potential conversion of existing clubs to professional organizations. Rosters are expected to consist of 30 players per franchise 💪 "The consensus was that this amateur, pay-to-play model is really no longer sustainable. U.S. elite players are traveling overseas to compete, and we want to evolve the rugby landscape and create opportunities for those elite athletes to really play domestically while being compensated," said WER President Jessica Hammond-Graf, Ed.D. 📰 > https://ow.ly/n0LY50Rem7z
