Filliers Distillery were kind enough to show me around in October, just after the fantastic Ghent Whisky Festival. Barrel aged jenever that could pass for whisky, pot stills and columns, rye whisky and single malt - Filliers have their fingers in many pies, as the saying goes! Definitely a name people should be learning for whisky in Belgium, not just jenever. Gouden Carolus and Belgian Owl are more often touted as 'the' Belgian whisky, but I think more of us should be putting Filliers in that position (or Radermacher - more about them in the *next* blog post...) #BelgianWhisky #SingleMalt #RyeWhisky
