Field Inclusive CFO Lauren Pharr and Executive assistant Kayla Stukes spent four days in beautiful Cullowhee, NC at Western Carolina University attending the Cullowhee Native Plant Conference. We gave our social field safety workshop to about ~15 participants who were interested in learning to identify social field safety risks — particularly for marginalized and historically excluded individuals — and learning smart solutions on how to mitigate various scenarios for researchers who professionally work outdoors. • FI tabled throughout the conference and discussed our organization with interested individuals who stopped by. We were also able to amplify and give out some materials from our many partners such as Sphyrnas Organization, Wilson Ornithological Society, and Wake Audubon Society. • A great few days full of new connections, ideas, and appreciation from so many that our organization exists. Catch us as the next conference and come out to learn how you can create a safe and inclusive environment for ALL researchers who professionally work outdoors: -AFO-SCO-WOS; July 29-August 1st -AOS; Oct.1-5

Thank you dear Daniel Schmachtenberger for this post — and above all for our wonderful conversation that it references. “With the fire roaring, we delve into the psychological and metaphysical underpinnings of the metacrisis, traversing topics such as fragmented consciousness, Daoism, wholeness, feeling in service to thinking, dharma enquiries, conflict theory, and what it might mean to live a meaningful life.” Video in link below and audio here https://lnkd.in/gdBtCyX8

🌍Reduce your carbon footprint with me 🌍 2 tons workshop facilitator and instructor 🌍 Climate Fresk facilitator 🌍
🧐 Last night, I bumped into this quote from Charles Darwin that really struck me. 𝗜𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝘃𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀; 𝗶𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝘃𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀; 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝘃𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝗱𝗮𝗽𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗱𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗲𝗻𝘃𝗶𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝘄𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗵 𝗶𝘁 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗶𝘁𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳. It litterally speaks by itself and highlights how we need to adjust our consumption behaviour and adapt to what is coming so we can still live in a liveable ecosystem 🌍 . 📉 And one of the first thing we can easily do to suceed in this mission is to reduce our carbon footprint ! 👉🏼If you want to know how, please check my previous posts or reach out to know more about the workshop I facilitate : 2tonnes !
