Fermilab's Main Injector turned 25 this year! 🎉 🎂 The Main Injector is two miles around and ramps up the proton beam from 8 GeV to 120 GeV. The world's highest-intensity neutrino beams are generated from these proton beams! 🔗 Learn more about Fermilab's accelerator complex: https://lnkd.in/g7vBWvE
I remember before, during, and after it was built!
1.018! IYKYK.
It was great to set a record! I’m proud of the teams that worked so hard to push that beam higher and higher. From a facility manager point of view, this is amazing. Creating and maintaining facilities that conduct ground breaking science in them has been exciting.

4wCongratulations to all who visioned, designed, built, commissioned and operated this accelerator that has made significant impact in high energy physics and will continue to do so for decades to come. Performance of this accelerator is a testament of how project management should be done.
