NEXT STEPS - Are You SkillBridge Ready? An Employer Focus. Great turn out yesterday and even better engagement from employers, practioners and others in our military connected community. Good insights were shared to better inform your decision around this talent solution. While Sara Blewett McNamara, MSOD and I have experience in building quality SkillBridge programs, we listened intently and learned a lot. Here are the 3 key themes that emerged: 1. There is a persistent gap in knowledge and experience in how to start a quality program. 2. There are current SkillBridge programs that are under performing and not meeting expectations or intent of the program. 3. There does not currently exist a standard of excellence in not only building a quality program but the resiliency needed to sustain it over time. As private sector employers, the ability to upskill and reskill your workforce of the future is shifting dramatically. Many of you are coming to the realization that your current methodologies may no longer work. Many of you are looking for solutions to solve for your most chronic talent needs. Enter SkillBridge and the true value of veterans to your organization. "Are You SkillBridge Ready" was not a rhetorical question, but a primer to this better one: Can my organization build a cost effect program that attracts this premium talent and impact the performance of my organization over time? When SkillBridge is done right, it is win-win for all of us. We are planning our next SkillBridge Ready Event for late January. ATTN EMPLOYERS: Is it possible to secure a competitive advantage hiring transitioning service members through the #dodskillbridge program?
