🌟 Celebrating the Legacy of the Black Panther Party's Free Breakfast Program🖤 In 1968, under the leadership of Bobby Seale and Huey P. Newton, the Black Panther Party initiated their groundbreaking Free Breakfast Program in West Oakland. What began modestly, serving 11 children on its inaugural day, quickly transformed into a vital lifeline for over 20,000 kids/day in 1968-1969, nationwide. Building on the success of the free breakfast program, the Panthers' Free Food Program established food pantries to support adults as well. Their commitment to nourishing the bodies and minds of their community members solidified their profound understanding that hunger is not just a physical condition but also a systemic injustice. The Panthers' initiatives transcended past food. They established free medical clinics staffed by volunteer doctors, nurses, and medical students, often housed in low-rent facilities donated by supportive community members. These clinics served as symbols of solidarity in neighborhoods underserved by traditional healthcare systems. Yet, the Panthers' impact extended beyond their direct services too. They leveraged their grassroots network to advocate for systemic change, rallying local businesses for donations and boycotting those who refused to participate in their effort to build community solidarity. Their efforts spoke volumes and represented the power of collective action. Though many aspects of their work were considered controversial in their time, today many recognize The Black Panther Party as powerful role models of community organization and activism that addressed systemic injustices like food insecurity long before many organizations like ours came into existence. Today, we honor their monumental contributions to fighting hunger in their communities. 💙 If you're interested in learning more about the work of the Black Panthers, we encourage you watch the incredible Oakland Museum's Black Panther documentary: https://lnkd.in/e_q4WjPE Photo credits (in order): Stephen Shames, William P. I believe WE are ALL made for impact. Whether you're revolutionizing collegiate and soon-to-be professional sports, launching a new venture (details coming soon 😎 ), or working a part-time job, we all have the opportunity to see our neighbors and contribute something meaningful. Here's to each of us improving some part of our world. #Leadership #Kindness #Impact #Perspective
Caitlin Clark’s most impactful NIL deal hasn't paid her anything at all. When NIL passed in 2021, the Coralville Community Food Pantry immediately turned to the Iowa basketball star for help. They offered to pay her for her promotion, but Clark insisted that she work for free. She’s helped raise more than $100,000 in two years.

Continuing the theme of gratitude during the month of November, Wolf Wallenstein, PC celebrates National Philanthropy Day today, November 15th, and the meaningful contributions of generosity in our communities. Conceived of by Douglas Freeman, a lawyer with a longtime focus on philanthropy, National Philanthropy Day was first officially recognized in 1986. The purpose of this day is to recognize the great contributions of philanthropy and provide an opportunity to reflect on the meaning of giving and all that it has made possible. Today we are proud to acknowledge the following remarkable organizations that we support throughout the year and give gratitude for the incredible work they are doing to make our communities stronger, more compassionate, and resilient. VOX Femina Los Angeles: Giving women voice through the performance of quality choral literature. Anti-Defamation League: Fighting all forms of antisemitism and bias, using innovation and partnerships to drive impact. Meals on Wheels America: Addressing senior hunger and isolation. Society For The Prevention Of Cruelty To Animals (spca): Advancing the safety and well-being of animals. Love On 4 Paws: Making a positive difference for those in need through animal assisted therapy. St. Lawrence Martyr Catholic Church: Extending a helping hand to those in need. Vida School: Nurturing students' social and emotional growth while striving for advanced academic achievement. At Wolf Wallenstein, PC, we believe in giving back. Philanthropy is more than a practice; it's part of our culture and reflects our core values that go beyond the courtroom. #NationalPhilanthropyDay #GivingBack #PhilanthropyInTheLaw

Yea it’s a five minute video, who watches those anymore! However, if you followed us over the course of Serve Week 2024 (The Ocho) this is an awesome wrap up and great work by the team. We try and use LinkedIn to open a window into our culture. And while Foundry Commercial isn’t perfect and we will always have work to do in pursuit of our standards, I think this is one of the things we get really right. We are a services company and spending time with these amazing organizations, which we encourage you to check out and support, reminds us what true service looks like. It is a week where we try to give back and we always end up getting so much more than we give. Great job Lauren and the entire Serve Week support team. #foundrycommercial #itspersonal #theocho #serveweek2024

Fatherhood engagement is much more than outreach or marketing. Father-inclusive practice recognizes the crucial role fathers play in their children's lives, and proactively engages and supports them in the parenting process. In turn, it benefits children, families, and communities. We'll hear from the Commonwealth Center for Fathers and Families (CCFF) of Kentucky, an innovative nonprofit focused on increasing positive fatherhood engagement and inclusion across Kentucky. https://ow.ly/4TkA50R7RJl?
