We've broken ground at Australia's largest intermodal logistics precinct. Together with LOGOS Property, FDC have turned the first patch of soil at the Moorebank Intermodal Precinct - a momentous occasion as we mark the commencement of this remarkable construction project and the beginning of a new chapter for the future of Australian logistics. The ground-breaking ceremony symbolises more than just the physical act of breaking ground. It represents the realisation of a vision and progress towards a facility offering unparalleled supply chain benefits, warehousing opportunities and sustainability advantages. LOGOS are leading the way in setting new benchmarks for sustainable outcomes in Australian industrial developments. The reduction in freight vehicles alone will reduce greenhouse gas emissions by up to 110,000 tonnes of CO2 each year whilst the solar and microgrid installation will save a further 67.2 kilotonnes of CO2 emissions per year. The site area for Stage 1 is 160,000sqm comprising of Warehouses 1,2 and 5. There will be 30,000m3 of concrete poured and 2000 tonnes of structural steel erected. Importantly, the structural steel is being delivered direct from the port via train to the intermodal terminal, already positively impacting on the sustainability in the building process. FDC are proud to be delivering this phase of the Moorebank Intermodal Precinct together with LOGOS along with consultants Watson Young, Costin Roe and Northrop.
