Another brother #Officer lost in the line of duty due to a violent #criminal. This #Detective was ambushed and shot multiple times by a coward who had earlier pistol whipped a restaurant employee over a incorrect order. Even though the suspect has not yet been identified, I have little doubt he has a past criminal history based on his actions and easy willingness to use violence. Attacks and assaults upon Officers are occurring at the highest rate in a decade and there has been an 8% increase in Officers killed by firearms in the first 6 months of 2024 compared to 2023. With the #violence against Officers and the constant demonizing of #LawEnforcement by activists, certain politicians, and much of the media there truly is a “War On Cops.” The question we must ask is what are we going to do about this “War On Cops”? Are Law Enforcement Leaders and Law Enforcement Associations going to proactively push back against the false narratives, misconstrued statistics, and lies made against the profession and individuals Officers each day? Are they going to be loud and assertive in calling for changes to the broken post 2014 #criminaljusticesystem which no longer holds criminals accountable? Are they going to demand that “progressive” district attorneys properly charge and prosecute criminals, especially those who attack/kill Officers? Are they going to listen to the Officers with boots on the ground and get them the tools and support they need? Are they going to tell the Officers’ story to the public so the public can hear what Officers are dealing with each day? Are they going to work hard to get rid of bad/criminal Cops while 100% defending and supporting the good Cops whose actions are in the right? Are they going to stand up to “progressive” politicians who aim to further weaken Law Enforcement and the Criminal Justice System? While it seems like a long time, 60 years and 40 years on incarceration is not enough for these two killers. Especially when you consider that they will probably be released earlier than that. Some people should never been released from prison due to their crimes, these criminals are prime examples of those that should remain in jail for the rest of their lives. Setting fire to a house, the wrong house as well, and killing 5 people in retaliation for the theft of a cell phone is just pure evil. I don’t care if they were “juveniles” at the time of the crime, they purposely committed a deadly crime and need to be punished for their cowardly acts of evil. Clarence M. Kelley, FBI director from 1973 to 1987, supported #OperationID. He advocated that the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) Policy Advisory Board upgrade the NCIC files concerning robbery, burglary and theft "to include an 'Owner Applied Number' (OAN) along with a full description of the stolen article." On September 19, 1977, the change was implemented and is still available to this day. #MyPropertyID is a police-accepted, internet-based enhancement of this valuable #crimeprevention #securitysystem. https://lnkd.in/epFh3qd3

Boston Mayor Michelle Wu advocated a soft-on-crime agenda by pushing to abolish the gang registry and arguing that criminal behavior – such as theft – should not be prosecuted. The mayor was asked, "Do you support shuttering the Boston Police gang database?" She answered, "Yes."
