As a federal funding partner of the Black Entrepreneurship Program, we are excited to launch the Survey with a Purpose (SWAP) campaign in partnership with the Black Entrepreneurship Knowledge Hub (BEKH). Our goal is to advocate for a monumental $1 billion allocation from the federal government to bolster the Black Entrepreneurship Program and related initiatives. We need your help to reach our ambitious target of rallying 6000 Black entrepreneurs from coast to coast across Canada to participate in our SWAP campaign. Participation is easy! We ask for just 10 minutes of your time to complete our survey and kindly share it with entrepreneurs in your ecosystem programs. Moreover, we encourage you to spread the survey within your Black entrepreneurial network, enhancing our reach and impact. Your feedback is essential in assessing our collective impact, and upon confirmation, we'll include you in our mailing list to keep you updated on the SWAP campaign. By participating in the campaign's success, you will be eligible for further multi-year funding opportunities to continue your impactful work. Let's make a difference together and be part of this transformative journey. Click on the link to take our brief 10-minute survey and share it with your network of Black entrepreneurs. Putting thought into your purchases is a good consumer practice that also allows you to pay attention to the values and people behind the brands you choose to support. This #BlackHistoryMonth, let's talk about black entrepreneurship in Canada. Black business owners have become increasingly prominent in recent years, but still represent only 2.1% of all Canadian entrepreneurs, according to Statistics Canada. In addition to the social obstacles they have to overcome in order to build a business, black people are also said to have more difficulty with financing and profitability than white owners. In fact, a number of organizations are dedicated to helping black entrepreneurs launch their businesses in order to improve their chances of success. In February, as at any other time, conscious consumption also means taking an interest in the black people who drive our Canadian businesses.
