Our CEO, Wu Ying, was invited to attend the 2023 China International Nickel and Cobalt Industry Forum held in Shanghai on October 25, 2023 Hosted by the China Non-Ferrous Metals Industry Association, this influential forum attracted over 800 industry representatives. Discussions on technological innovation, green initiatives, and emerging market trends in the non-ferrous metals sector took place during the event. Wu Ying took center stage with an inspiring speech highlighting the risks and opportunities faced by nonferrous metals companies in the face of new ESG policies and regulations at home and abroad. By sharing and reflecting on ESG cases of international nonferrous metals giants, especially nickel and cobalt companies, and combining the ESG stages and development characteristics of Chinese companies, she put forward practical suggestions for the high-quality implementation of ESG development in my country's nonferrous metals industry. Adriatic Metals Plc (LSE:ADT1, ASX:ADT, OTCQX:ADMLF) is to supply Swedish firm Boliden with zinc concentrates from the Vares silver project to produce the metal to the highest ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) standards. Boliden announced in 2021 that it was expanding its Odda smelter to produce green zinc. Production capacity is being increased by 75% to 350 kilotonnes a year, with Odda now said to be among the most climate-friendly sites in the world. Vildana Mahmutovic, Adriatic Mines’ head of sustainability said: "Boliden stands out in a demanding industry landscape with leading ESG performance in its supply chains. "Adriatic Metals operations are well in line to support Boliden's leading sustainability standards and best practices".
