FAO introduced the Global Action on "One Country One Priority Product" (OCOP) in September 2021 to advance its Strategic Framework 2022–31 and drive progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals. This initiative aims to foster inclusive, profitable, and environmentally sustainable food systems by developing Special Agricultural Products (SAPs). The primary goals include optimizing production systems, reducing food loss and chemical misuse, and maximizing incomes. Ultimately, the aim is to transition towards more efficient, inclusive, resilient, and sustainable agrifood systems.

Enabled through an easy-to-use mobile application, Cropwise™ Sustainability, our SOA is a framework for continuous improvement, allowing any grower or supply chain company to seamlessly track and communicate their progress in adopting regenerative practices. SOA is benchmarked to the SAI Platform’s FSA 3.0 Gold level and aligned with The Sustainability Consortium’s THESIS, including its Responsible Pest Management Framework. The lack of transparency in agricultural algorithms affects the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities). For SDG 12: - Transparent algorithms help farmers make informed decisions, preventing resource waste and environmental harm. - They ensure traceability and accountability in food production, promoting sustainable practices. For SDG 10: - Transparent, open-source algorithms provide equitable access to technology for smallholder and marginalized farmers, reducing inequalities. - Opaque algorithms can reinforce power imbalances, favoring large agribusinesses and exacerbating economic disparities in agriculture. Finding the right balance between transparency and the protection of business integrity is challenging. While transparency is essential for sustainable practices and equity, businesses must also safeguard their proprietary information to maintain competitive advantages.
